Looks like season 2 of She Hulk got cancelled and its lead actress has been making pop ups on odd "Twitch gameshows" acting quite humbled and stating that she doesn't have a job, which is quite the role reversal for her from when she was doing interviews wearing "Trans Futures Matter" and bashing men.
I'm sure all the writers have wonderful careers ahead of them part time as WalMart cashiers before they drive back to their overpriced apartments in their overpriced EVs that are going to be repossessed to spend the night with their cats on Twitter.
First time I'd heard a number on it, but She Hulk season one cost Disney $225 Million to produce.

Hollywood Accounting... Oh how tempting it is to fudge the numbers "just a little bit" when you've got hundreds of millions to play with.
Just... yanno... Don't go overboard with it and get yourself caught. And under no circumstances to you claim to people that you owe money to that Avatar 2 didn't make enough money for them to get paid.

TSG’s lawsuit filed last August in Los Angeles District Court said that Fox had promised TSG a share of defined gross receipts for pictures under the companies’ long-term participation agreement but that the studio used “nearly every trick in the Hollywood accounting book” to not pay. The financier accused Disney/Fox of self-dealing with FX, Hulu and Disney+, said its revenue began to shrink and that an audit it commissioned showed breaches of contract. It didn’t specify which films were examined.
Elsewhere in the suit it noted 2017 Oscar-winning The Shape of Water was licensed to Fox “in a backroom side deal that appallingly shaved nearly $4 million off of the parties’ previously agreed-upon price.”
TSG said studio had promised to distribute co-financed films “on a fair, reasonable, good faith and non-discriminatory basis” but did not, TSG said, noting former CEO Bob Chapek’s shortened exclusive theatrical windows in favor of pushing content onto Disney+ to grow the streamer’s subscriptions, reducing the theatrical revenue that TSG counted on.
That was an issue for others as well. Scarlett Johansson sued Disney over the release of Black Widow across both movie theaters and Disney+ in 2021. “By 2022, this admittedly thoughtless Disney strategy, and Fox’s pattern of systematic self-dealing and Hollywood Accounting, had deprived TSG of the cash it needed to fund future Qualifying Pictures. But for this lack of liquidity, TSG would have fully invested in additional Fox films and reaped the full financial benefits associated with maximizing its investments in these Qualified Pictures.”
It took most folk YEARS longer to realize what you are than they should have, but we're pretty much all on the same page now and your goodwill is gone.

There's zero chance in hell this gets picked up for a 2nd season. Marvel is basically dead at this point.

NOTE 1: With most sites including Variety and Deadline calling films that grossed 2.0x of their budget failures, and most movies sites tracking the success or failure of a movie's ability to break even based off if it can gross 2.5x of its Production Budget, I have now made 2.5x the marker for whether a movie is a failure or not.
The 2.0x numbers will still be tallied for the rest of the year, but if I choose to track movies again next year I will only be keeping track of 2.5x.

Bruce found some money under the international couch cushions for Disney. The Creator goes up more than $5 Million from last update meaning that it did break $100 Million worldwide. Still a huge loser on an $80 Million budget.
Disney's losses for 2023 managed to dip under $1.8 Billion now.

The Disney cartoon Wish was released to theaters on November 22nd, 2023. Exactly two months later, the Pirates made it available for FREE! How can a Disney cartoon be profitable (looking exclusively at ticket sales) when its movies are available for FREE? Only if Disney has 80 million rabid fans worldwide (a mere 1% of Earth’s population) who would happily pay a high price and travel long distances to see a movie immediately rather than wait a few weeks to see it at home for FREE.

Hollywood’s Death Spiral

The real issue that emerges in these secret industry numbers is not the rise of a new format. Just as the DVD replaced VHS, a more efficient digital format will eventually replace the DVD. (A high-definition digital recorder with massive storage is already available in the United States and Japan.) What has inexorably changed is the location of the studios’ crucial audience. In 1948, with studios earning all their revenues from the box office, that audience was moviegoers. Even as late as 1980, when the audience had television sets and video players, studios still earned 55 percent of their money from people who actually went to movie theaters. In 2005, however, those moviegoers provided the studios with less than 15 percent of their worldwide revenues, while couch potatoes provided it with 85.8 percent. This change in audience location altered the balance of power inside the studios. It reduced the once-almighty movie distribution arms to minor players while awarding star status to the home entertainment divisions that produced well over three times as much revenue. Through this reversal of fortunes, the stage has been set for what a top studio executive warned could be “Hollywood’s death spiral.”

If only Disney could make a movie that didn't cost $200 Million or more to make and wasn't stuffed to the gills with unpopular DEI agendas that nobody is willing to pay for anymore.
All of those studios made all of those cartoon movies listed above profitable. Some of them made a killing too. Even Seth Rogan's piece of shit Ninja Turtles movie that race swapped April O'Neil into an ugly, nerdy black chick made a few million bucks thanks to its comparatively low $70 Million price tag.
You can't force agendas AND blow the budget. That's the biggest takeaway for all the studios that lost money in 2023, but especially for Disney.
Nobody is watching any of Disney's shit for free either, and Disney+ will continue to lose over a Billion Dollars per year until it ultimately shuts down.
