hello everyone. This is my first posting and i wanted to share my email i sent to sci fi....

"To whom it may concern,
Please do what you can to push the show onto sci fi.The show deserves a decent chance to thrive on anetwork that actually cares. I dont watch alot oftelevision and I am very picky about what i do watch. I instantly fell in love with this show and cant imagine it desapearing into obscourity because no oneelse wants to touch it. Do what you can to convince whoever you need to that this show is worth the fight.

Always good to see fireflyfan activism! Nice letter, CitizenDanCK .

The only guarantee we have right now is that if the movie does well there will be more. But it's always good to be reminding other industry players of the loyalty of the fans.

Actually, given the way things are done these days, Universal would be unlikely to have a problem with a Firefly TV series, as long as there's something in it for them. Most media conglomerates see nothing wrong with milking an idea to death: movies, TV, novels, video games, fanzines, comic books, Lego sets, Burger King glasses... If Universal doesn't want Joss to do a TV series, it's because they think there's no profit in it, not because they're worried about competition with the BDM. Universal would see a TV series as an ADVERTISEMENT for the BDM.

The big unknown in the equation is Fox. They apparently hold the rights to any television production of Firefly. How long they hold the rights is ambiguous. I think the highest number (thrown out by one of the BDH's at a convention) was ten years. Of course, everything is negotiable but it's also been reported that Joss shut down the television production portion of his empire.

Everydamnthing is subject to revisitation and revision, even a "no TV" stance by Joss. His vision was of a TV series because of the room it gave him to develop characters and story lines fully and richly, like writers can in novels; movies are more like short stories, quick hits of character/plot/emotion.

Back on SciFi and in syndication sounds like a shiny resolution to me. Can the conglomerates make the numbers work...there's a question...how many milennia was "Earth: Final Conflict" limping along with so-so Nielsens? And why again was Firefly canceled?

I ask myself that same question every single time I watch an episode. I'd love to have Firefly back on the small screen. In a perfect world (one where I was a multigazillionaire, bought a television studio, and donated it to Joss) it would've never left. Now, however, my main focus is growing more fans for the movie.
