I'm having a set delivered over here to England.
No-one's heard of it here, but I'm looking forward to watching it, just listening to your comments.

Why oh why are all my fav shows only on DVD ? I don't know how so many folks have already gotten their Wonderfalls DVDs yet. I ordered mine from Amazon and don't expect them to arrive for another few days. I checked and double checked, and the release wasn't scheduled before Feb - something, but I've seen several post on here claiming to have gotten their DVDs already. I'm not bitter, I just want my Wonderfalls!
Oh, yeah. About Jewel. I heard she does a good job as the ex-wife. VERY non Kaylee. Did anyone catch that Lifetime movie w/ Jewel and James Broland in it a couple of weeks ago ? As a guy, I felt a bit self conscious about watching Lifetime , but hey....it was Jewel! Good to see her on screen again.

I blinked while it was on FOX, so I totally missed it.
I picked up the DVD last week, figuring I'd go through a couple of episodes a day. Ended up marathoning the first two discs in one night and the third the next. Great show!!!
It has reiginited my quite passionate hate for Gorram FOX!!!

Thanks for the reminder that it is time to order Wonderfalls. Just ordered mine. I only saw a couple of the eps on TV and missed the one with Jewel. Looking forward to seeing all of the eps, can anyone tell me how many there were?

13, I think. They only aired 4 (and I caught them all) before cancelling it. I actually haven't finished off the last disc - I can't wait to see if there's some kind of resolution, even a little bit.
And Jewel really is a bitch in this show; it's so shocking to see things like that coming out of Kaylee's mouth, much less what goes into it
edit-- I just finished watching the rest of the episodes, and I have to say that this DVD set is just wonderful. I tried to listen with commentary, though, and I couldn't listen to much of it. There's something a little grating about Holland's (the co-creator with Brian Fuller) voice and he's talking most of the time. Still, as a work, it's damn near perfect. A shame of a cancellation almost on par with Firefly.

They only aired 4 episodes! That's pathetic!
Oh, and Jewel Staite is fantastic, even though she plays a real bitca. ;)
Keep flying
Another example of FOX
programing at it's best!
Great shows get cancelled while crap like FATmily Guy
gets renewed. I don't get it!

I agree with you about Wonderfalls, but it puzzles me what your beef is concerning Family Guy. It's hardly my favorite, but it is one of the few very funny shows on currently, much funnier than The Simpsons, which should have been put out of our misery several years ago.

I saw Jewel's eps of WONDERFALLS on VISION TV (which I found odd it being on a Xtian heavy channel, since the show doesn't have much of a Xtian overtone), and I'm slightly torn. I mean, I know she played a devious woman, and I did have support for Jaye and thought it was funny as hell when Heidi was screaming when she saw the hostage taker get run over by an ambulance in front of her eyes. But I couldn't exactly buy her as a truly vindictive, hell spawn. Maybe because the role of Kaylee is so iconic, and that she's not much of a character actor that I couldn't buy into her totally, but there were times that she did shine through.
I know I sound like I'm bashing her, but I'm just being honest. I love Jewel. I hope to God that one day she'll be in one of my movies (hopefully she won't be expensive enough for around the time when I'd need her for my flick), and she would be playing like an anti-Kaylee role.
Ususally, for me to really like an actor, he or she has to have that ability to completely dissapear into another role so well that if I see them again, I wouldn't recognize them, even if they didn't have any makeup on. I'll give you an example. After FIREFLY went off the air, I saw Gina Torres do a guest stint on 24's third day. And she was so convincing as this glamorous but cowardly politician's wife who got pushed around very easily, that it was only on seeing her resume on IMDB.com that I actually made the connection between the two characters. That's how good she is. So far, I havn't had that with Jewel. Hopefully, it will happen. It just didn't with WONDERFALLS.

And wow! Hey! What's this thing suddenly coming towards me very fast? Very very fast. So big and flat and round, it needs a big wide sounding name like ... ow ... ound ... round ... ground! That's it! That's a good name - ground! I wonder if it will be friends with me?
