Are those any good?
I'm pretty sure I watched the first one on streaming maybe a year after it came out, but I don't remember a single thing about it.
They just seem to not appeal to me for about half of the reasons Indy 5 doesn't appeal to me and most of the reasons Indy 4 didn't.
And to me, the whole concept of the movie almost seems subconsciously woke. Kind of a "baddass dudes are old guys that are dying off soon" or something.
I wonder what even is a hero to kids growing up today outside of Super Heroes. They might not actually have anything grounded at all in reality and think the only way you can be a hero is if you got bitten by a radioactive spider or are Elon-Musk-rich and build yourself a flying robotic suit or McGuffin this or McGuffin that.

I would happily binge watch the mindless action of Expendables, I seen Expendables part '1' its an ok film, good classic 80s feel Action entertainment but with the dark, gritty, goth, nihilism, grim look of modern films, however it is somewhat upbeat and has funny moments. It was coming off a new era the remakes of Bond, birth of the comic book and other entertainment films like Dark Knight, Ironman, Nolan's Batman II, Ironman II, Cloverfield, The Day the Earth Stood Still remake, the wacky comedy Tropic Thunder, the somewhat flop-ish Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, Twilight drama. Expendables comes along with all the old Action hero types, Sly Stallone, Jason Statham, Jet Li, Dolph Lundgren, Randy Couture, Steve Austin, Terry Crews there were women in the film but I don't remember their role other than calling them or answering a phone or sending an email 'contract' maybe the bad guys were Eric Roberts, Mickey Rourke and maybe Steve Austin..I think there's a fight scene with Stallone and Steve Austin lots of helicopter explosions, guns and tank maybe a private terrorists army or something. Chuck Norris shows up in later movies to play the meme version of himself and Van Damme would later appear in another Expendables, its the who is who of 80s action films minus Kurt Russell, Eddie Murphy, Jackie Chan, Roddy Piper, Antonio Banderas, Peter Weller but its every other 80s or 90s action movie combined.
The movie has minimum plot, beat bad guys, or also for some reason people lose their guns and it goes hand to hand, Stallone's character gets his butt kicked by whatever character Steve Austin plays and then Randy Couture plays a character comes along and beats Steve Austin, it was also a time when Boxing or Kickboxing or Olympic Wrestling were seen as old sports replaced by new cage fighting entertainment of mma ufc and I believe 'Arine' shows up in one of the movies.
EDIT
I just watched the trailers for these films it seems to have everyone including Wesley Snipes, Antonio Banderas, mma ufc star 'Ronda Rousey' I'm going to binge watch these films and probably enjoy them a lot.
I also see Weinstein stuff casting couch people who prey on Women, little girls, little boys and even Adult Men
a scandal Terry Crews refused to appear in any new entries after claiming he was sexually assaulted by Stallone's agent, Adam Venit.
Respect for Terry Crews for staying chilled and as he might have taken the guy's head off with one punch and then be labelled an aggressor criminal by the creeps behind the studios.

Hollywood seems dead for now, I expect a lot of them to admit they have lost money, they were in the red and burning cash, they will admit failures at the end of Biden's term.

I think that article is textbook putting the cart before the horse.

People are going to watch these just because there's really nothing else to watch for most of the rest of the year, but I don't see any one of them doing particularly well for various and sometime overlapping reasons. Will all of them flop? Quite possibly, depending on the budgets. Even if they don't, I don't see any way they make enough money to justify the expense, time and effort.
Wish would be my only exception here. I still don't know enough about it to really give any predictions. I think if there are some real bangers in there on the soundtrack it could do really good business. It looks like they're releasing singles from the soundtrack early, and one of them at least are already out. I listened to This Wish by Ariana DeBose, and although it's very competent and she's got a nice voice, I think they'd better have a much deeper roster than this. It's no "Let it Go".
