Picked this tidbit up at www.scifi.com/scifiwire:

Quote:

Fox has ordered a TV pilot for Stephen Bochco's futuristic NYPD 2069, while ABC has ordered a pilot for Century City, a legal drama set 50 years in the future.

Maybe this is the type of junk Fox had hoped for from Joss, re: Firefly.

why consider it as junk when you haven't even see it yet? Unless there's more info about those 2 shows online that you didn't mention you can't make an opinion with such a short sentense....well you can but it's not a very good one.

Don't forget that next week ABC premieres "Miracles" (helmed by David Greenwalt) and the Indiana Jones like "Veritas."

On "Miracles," I'm seriously considering creating a fansite for it. Any interest? My bigest fear? The series being cancelled by Summer.

Haken, I would fully support and frequent a Miracles website if you created one. I'm looking forward to the show.

Just what TV needs, another cop drama and legal drama show. Heavens knows there is not enough in the lineups now...... (please note heavy sarcasm).

TV shows focusing on cops and lawyers = high potential for junk in my view. Rebels are more interesting.

I'm sure I'll at least take a peak at these new shows if they make do indeed make it to the airwaves. But Joss has ruined for me any chance I have of enjoying typical formulaic TV crap. In other words... if ABC and FOX expect me to tune in regularly, the writing on these new shows better be phenomenal.

I totally agree. Cop and lawyer shows are a dime a dozen on TV and there are only so many spins you can put on those shows.

I like the "rebel" shows too. Perhaps it is that maverick aspect of the show that caused Fox execs to do what they could to undermine the show so it died in the chute.

Brilliance would the site be, I'd support it 100%.
And Haken, please allow us to get off to a fresh start, I know some people see myself in a heated light on the topic of other's homosexuality preference (i'm not, and on the issue not that there's anything wrong with that).

Miracles is our new hope, Luke Skywalker to our fallen Firefly Jedi, please see my topic on this subject: "Firefly's gone, lets go with MIRACLES."

If you know anyone that can help my screenwriting career, please help! And yes, I am self-advertising here. Hehehe, me such a little devil.

Personally, I don't see Miracles as our best new hope or anything. I'll grant you that it looks somewhat interesting, but I'm not holding out for anything great (also not holding out for a renewal for a full season or anything. The only genre show ABC has pulled off in recent times in the spy thriller Alias).

I don't think Miracles will be on par with Firefly. Not in any way.

ALias is NOT a genre show. Miracles is our new hope, didn't you read what i wrote? Greenwalt's won't be AS good as Jossy's but, will be near.
