Multi-million dollar lawsuit filed against Trump — 'alleging conspiracy, wrongful death and more'

Another summons has been issued to Donald Trump in a case related to the Jan. 6 insurrection.

The former president was served notice Monday of a civil lawsuit filed by the longtime girlfriend of the late Capitol police officer Brian Sicknick alleging conspiracy, wrongful death and other complaints against Trump and two rioters involved in the attack, reported CBS News correspondent Scott MacFarlane.

“The horrific events of January 6 2021, including Officer Sicknick’s tragic, wrongful death, were a direct and foreseeable consequence of the defendants’ unlawful actions,” the suit alleges.

Donald Trump Indictment Threat Grows Closer

The investigation in Fulton County has expanded to include the fake elector scheme involving an alternate slate of presidential electors, threats and harassment against election workers, the role of state lawmakers and unauthorized access to voting machines in the Peach State.

"It's now the critical window for the Fulton County DA to finally characterize as criminal the alleged plan to supplant the voters' will with a magical discovery of votes for a particular candidate," McAuliffe said.

Trump's taxes are the finishing touch for a 'slam dunk' case in Manhattan over tax fraud:

In a column for the New York Daily News, Donald Trump biographer and business reporter David Cay Johnston claimed that if Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg plans to indict Donald Trump for tax fraud based on what he already has, the former president's recently released taxes filled in all the blanks he needs.

• • Trump has committed many felonies. The evidence is overwhelming.

• • As I tell my friends regarding all manner of topics, don’t jump to the end. Let things play out.

And yet, unlike your claims that you'll wait for things to run their course, you've already got him convicted and jailed in your mind. You said so yourself as a matter of fact:
"Trump has committed many felonies."
"Trump Going to Jail.".

There's no such thing with you as the American value of innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. You just can't wait for the actual, legal, US justice system to work its way to a conclusion before you lynch him.

You are one of the most anti-American people here.

And you can't quit your obsessive hate because your mind is diseased.

Justice is very slow. These 3 guys committed murder in 1994 and they have not yet been executed, after being convicted, convictions overturned on appeal, then retrial and a new conviction. Decades go by before criminals get what they deserve, even in Texas. Trump can sleep well knowing that it will take decades before he gets what he deserves. More likely, Trump will die of old age before a trial even starts.

Fratta, now 65, is convicted of hiring men to kill his wife, Farah, in 1994 during a contentious custody battle over their three children. Multiple witnesses said Fratta had made comments about killing his wife or hiring others to do so throughout the divorce and custody fights.

Fratta has maintained his innocence over nearly 30 years, arguing almost all of the evidence against him relied on a single witness who testified in exchange for immunity from prosecution. He has pending appeals in the U.S. Supreme Court to further review his conviction.

In court, Harris County prosecutors argued Fratta hired Joseph Prystash and Howard Guidry, who shot Farah Fratta in the head in her garage weeks before the couple’s divorce was to be finalized. The two other men are also on death row.

Months after the murder, when Guidry was arrested for another offense, his neighbor Mary Gipp told police that he, Fratta and Prystash, her boyfriend, had also been involved in Farah Fratta’s death. Gipp said Fratta hired her boyfriend and neighbor to kill Farah Fratta in exchange for $1,000 and a Jeep.

Prystash and Guidry both later confessed to their role in the murder and implicated Fratta. Their statements at trial, however, led to Fratta’s first conviction being tossed since the prisoners did not testify themselves, preventing Fratta from his right to confront witnesses, courts ruled. He was again tried and sentenced to death largely based on Gipp’s testimony in 2009.

If courts rule against Fratta in appeals over his conviction and the lethal drugs Tuesday, he will be executed after 6 p.m. in a Huntsville prison.

Trump’s tax returns show he was a bigger security risk than we realized

Last month the House Ways and Means Committee published six years of former President Trump’s tax returns — documents that should have been released years earlier, whether by Trump voluntarily, or by congressional subpoena. As Norman Eisen, Danya Perry and I have explained, we learned a lot from Trump’s tax returns. Among the pages and pages of revelations, it is the new details about his foreign entanglements that are most frightening from the vantage point of our national security.

Just as I and some others have said long ago.

PAPERBACK RELEASE OF "DONALD TRUMP V. THE UNITED STATES"
by Travis Gettys, January 12, 2023

John Kelly didn't have high expectations about Donald Trump when he joined the White House as chief of staff, but he was still shocked by what he found after joining the administration.

The retired U.S. Marine Corps general joined the White House halfway through Trump's first year, and New York Times reporter Michael Schmidt told MSNBC's "Morning Joe" about what Kelly learned about the former president and his abilities.

"So when Kelly came in as chief of staff, he thought that the problem around Trump was that he was not staffed properly and they needed to create a process around him, and that's what the chaos of the first six months of the administration was about," Schmidt said. "But when Kelly comes in as chief of staff, what he realizes is that the problem is not just the fact that there's not a process and that he's not being staffed as well as he could, but that Trump himself was the problem, that Trump was far dumber and immoral and ignorant and lazy than he ever thought he was."

"Within a few days, he becomes terrified because here he is, the top staffer to the president of the United States, and he's realizing that the president of the United States is far more limited and potentially dangerous than he ever thought, and at that point, there was no one else to call," Schmidt added. "He was -- it was just him and Trump, and he basically spends the next 18 months trying to manage Trump as much as he could."
