True. But like they say old habits are hard to break. And that one keeps sneaking back up on me.

Trust me. I know the feeling of rushing. If I didn't waste so much time, then everything wouldn't be a rush when I'm working on it. Add to that me being a perfectionist, and it's like my psyche is tearing itself in half sometimes.
But now that I finally feel like I'm starting to get ahead of it, I'm able to have downtime without feeling so guilty about it these days. Boy... it will be nice to finally have the house done and only have to worry about regular maintenance stuff. I'm still a few years away from that, but I'm hoping I can really start to find the balance at that point.

The snow has arrived officially now before 2pm. It's sticking on balcony and the rooftops around me.
But I'm in for the day and so have to see what tomorrow brings.

Got a great head start on winter today and made the most of the nice temps before the freeze came in. Garage is clean. Pretty much everything I could think that I'd need for working inside is in the house and ready to go. Did a few last minute wall repairs in the garage that I forgot about. Tested my snowblower and generator.
Still no car, but plenty of room to park it. Haven't had this much room in there since I put the shelving up and organized everything. Actually, there's more in there now than there was before since I put my mower in the shed for the winter. And I also got the broken snowblower my neighbor gave me last year that I still haven't gotten around to fix. I'm giving that a 50/50 shot that all I need to do is change the spark plug. I'll use that for my front walkway since mine is way too big, and it will be a nice backup for me or my dad if his goes out.

Snow that arrived also brought strong winds so all ferries between the mainland and Vancouver Island were cancelled for Tuesday. Hopefully they will be back up and running tonight or early tomorrow morning.
Suppose to shift to rain around me by the time I head to bed. My area will probably all totaled have gotten around 9 inches which is 25cm.

That's what the conversion table said 25cm works out to. But I doubt that my specific area saw that much. Won't know until I head out.

So vacation is over and I've been pushing thru misc chores, appts, errands and some yardwork which includes planning on how to regrade the front yard.
One side of the front walkway is very low, the other side has a hump that causes dirt to wash out onto the driveway. The complication is that there is a 20' Island Oak that I don't want to kill, so I've been digging around looking for tree roots to see how much I can move and where I need to stop.
But today will be just general cleanup. Tomorrow and the next few days are predicted to rain so its back to indoor work.
Made one of my more complicated recipes yesterday: Thai red curry with stirfry beef and hot sauce. There's a reason I don't do that too often: too many vegetables and herbs to prepare 1/4 c cilantro, potatoes, red pepper, snow peas, hot green peppers, grated ginger, pineapple, and lots of basil. Good thing my garden basil is still alive! I had some leftover cauliflower so i threw that in, too. Coconut milk, red curry paste, cumin, fish sauce and sugar. It's a tasty curry but a PITA.
