Leather couch?? Recliner chair? Those would be so classy in your redone living room. It would highlight all work you've done.
I had a really nice day, too. Except for picking up the dinners and taking the dog for a REALLY short walk, I did nothing. I rested bc I've been flogging myself the past few weeks, watched TV with the family, had a NICE long chat with one of my sisters. But mostly, I rested, and it was great!

I went out early today for my walk to try and beat the rain. That didn't work. It stopped an hour after I was out but I got my walk and a bit more grocery shopping done. And right now as of 2:06pm the sun is trying to peak through the clouds. Talk of snow over the weekend. Have to see.

Yeah. We had a great time. His wife's father passed away just last week, and she'd been spending a LOT of time over there with him for the two years he hung on. I think I was a great distraction to that, and we had a lot of laughs during the dinner. Her mom said something super funny which wouldn't make sense out of context and without me trying to explain it all, but it was completely out of character for her and not something you'd expect a woman in her 70's to say. I even managed to bring it back later in the conversation and we got another good laugh out of it. His wife was in tears she was laughing so hard and said she didn't think that those were the types of tears she'd be crying tonight.
The food was awesome. My family hasn't done thanksgiving (at least remotely in town) for about 20 years and any time I was working I'd always volunteer that day and get the extra pay. So after my plans fell through I was really happy for the offer.
The couches are nice, but they're tan and probably would clash with my colors in the living room. Oh well... I've never been one to care about those things. It will be comfortable though. They're great.

I did nothing at all today but rest and it was excellent.

Laundry done and walk in. It was raining when I went out but dry on my way back. It still wants to rain.

Busy day...
Grandma and aunt came over since they didn't stop by on Thanksgiving, so I had about 4 hours of house cleanup before they got here. It was a nice visit.
I'd planned on just ripping down the wood that I needed to make something for my brother on the table saw and just make sure everything I needed to rip for the winter was done before it gets cold for good, but I ended up working until 10PM out in the garage and got most of the thing done. 
Glued parts are clamped and drying. It'll be raining tomorrow but I think it's still over 50 for the high, so I might as well just get it done tomorrow.
It's a "sleeve" to put over his table next to his desk/TV stand that he's got his SMALL apple computer, his router and some other stuff I forget. He needs something that will protect all of that from his destructive cat, and right now he's got an exercise mat taped around things with duct tape and two couch pillows on top of it. It looks like crap, is a huge hassle for him to undo if he needs to change anything out, and doesn't really let the electronics breathe.
He wanted it made out of plywood, but that would have been heavy and fairly expensive. I built the skeleton from what was left of my pallet wood and a few 3 foot 1x6's I had. I was going to put full pieces of hardboard on both sides, but I don't have enough. So I ripped what I did have down to 2.5" widths and made slats with 1 5/8" gaps in between and glued them on and clamped them.
Now I've got enough for a solid sheet on the top and the front, and I'm going to either screw 4 washers on the front and top or glue 4 slugs from electric boxes onto the skeleton, and then I'm going to glue some hard drive magnets I've got so he'll have two panels that he can remove to get to what he needs to from the top and the front without having to take it back out.
I'll show you some pictures when I get around to it.
