I don't think so. At least not in those blanket terms, and at least not in the next few years until they really modernize their software out of the COBOL age and most of that stuff can be handled by the machines.
They're taking a lesson from Justin Trudeau and what he did to the Freedom Convoy here, only they learned from his mistakes and installed these powers on the sly (relatively speaking) through congress, while also claiming that it is something that it is not.
No emergency powers necessary now to get up all in your financial business if you don't keep your head down and in the sand like they want you to.
But if you're going to be actively protesting anything in the future, I'd suggest that your accounting be infallible if you're not on the side of the current media narrative.

I suppose the scariest aspect of an I.R.S. audit is the fear created in your own head. I had some recent dealings with them regarding the 2020 taxes I did for my mom. They just sent a fairly friendly letter telling me she owed $ 2,600 more than I already paid. I was given a choice to pay it (w/options) or contest it. I went online and paid it in five minutes, easy peasy. So unless you're a big-time tax cheat there's not too much to worry about.
