I've got a deal with Shell Energy Solutions at 9.5 cents per kilowatt-hour for the next four years to charge my Ford Lightning. Shell claims it is 100% Renewable Electricity. I shall believe Shell until 6ix has proof that Shell is burning coal to make electricity.

Fuck your coal burning car dude.

That 100% renewable energy going to power your car right now would have been powering a house, but now that house is still being powered by coal to give your dumb virtue signalling ass a sweet deal for being one of the first religious converts.

Get a million other idiots to put a million more coal burning cars on the road and Shell ain't going to be offering them that same deal or guaranty. That price of 9.5 cents per kWh is low no matter what state you're in. Your neighbors are paying for that deal of yours.

Unless we put nuclear plants up everywhere, the coal mining industry is getting a huge resurgence.

Solar and wind energy is a fucking joke.

When I signed up last year, the company was called MP2 Energy. It is the same company, owned by Shell Oil last year and this year, but it has been rebranded as Shell Energy and the prices for NEW customers have been bumped up to match fossil fuels because, you know, Shell Oil isn't in the business to give you a good deal, unlike MP2 Energy was. The cost of wind-power and photovoltaic generation didn't suddenly increase by 50% for the engineers at MP2. What happened is that Shell Oil management told MP2 management to either raise prices or be fired this year.

As all Capitalists know, Shell Oil is in the oil business (and now the green electric business) to make the highest profits it can achieve. That is how inflation works, 6ix. Inflation has zero, nothing, nada connection with interest rates, Fed Reserve Bank money, M1/M2/M3 money supply numbers, or whatever abstraction is popular to distract from the simple truth that prices are set by greedy men to take the maximum amount of money from customers. The obvious reason that prices aren't set at infinity is because customers would switch to competitors, if there are competitors.

Ukraine wages a ‘deep war’ to degrade Russian forces as Moscow continues its scorched-earth campaign.

A Russian train carrying troops and equipment to reinforce positions in southern Ukraine was blown up by American-supplied precision missiles over the weekend, killing dozens of soldiers and destroying many rail cars, according to Ukrainian officials, who released satellite imagery of the strike site to support their claim.

At the same time, Russia sought to renew its flailing effort to advance in eastern Ukraine, once again blanketing the front with overwhelming artillery fire as it tried to reposition ground forces to press forward.

As more long-range Western weapons have arrived in the country, Ukraine has been increasingly able to wage what military analysts call a “deep war,” attacking Russian command and control centers, hitting key supply routes, trying to isolate Russian forces in pockets, and enlisting Ukrainian guerrillas behind enemy lines in the south to assist in targeting Russian positions and engage in sabotage.

Comrade Signym, can_you_see_me_laughing? I told you so. Again and again over the years I've told you so.

On multiple fronts, the Ukrainian and Russian militaries were trying to dictate both how and where the battle is fought. Much will turn on which army succeeds in that effort.

Since Kiev has smaller forces, they have to pull troops from some areas to reinforce others. What seems to be happening is that Russians are shelling along the entire front but advance only where it's easiest. Since the redeployment of Kiev's troops to Kherson has left a gap in the north, Russians seem to be advancing into that gap, west of Donetsk (city).

Apparently one of the Briish newspapers (don't recall if it was The Guardian or something else) did a survey of Russian cemetaries to tally Russian military dead. They came up with a figure of about 6,000. I'm sure there are gaps, that they missed at least a few. Say 9,000 (+50%).
