Looks like my gardening will be on "pause" for the next seven days. Since summer is definitely here I changed my schedule to accomodate the higher temps, figuring if I got out early enuf ... say, 9:30 AM ... I could get in an hour of gardening without stressing my kidneys too much. Originally the temps for the upcoming week were predicted to be mostly in the low-to-mid 80s, which I could have dealt with, but now they're predicted to be in the mid-80s to 90, which no reasonable schedule change can accommodate. I'll try to sneak out and plant here and there, but not about to do major spade-work. It's a good thing I cleared enough additional space in between this week's DR appts for a row of beets and chives. The melons and okra are going to have to wait in their pots a bit longer. DEFINITELY going to have to keep everything well-watered so my plants don't croak!
There's plenty of indoor work to do, mostly cleaning, filing, and tidying up.
On a bright note, thanks to hubby's push, dear daughter got her new (5G) phone. We managed to xfer off all of her texts (she only had, like, 5000+ of them! I personally delete all of mine as soon as I can!), contacts, and pictures. It turns out that the detailed pix properties like camera type, exposure, and (importantly) time and date stamp were NOT part of the picture file but were kept by the phone in a separate file, so the date didn't xfer over with the pix. But dear daughter manually prepended the date to each file name. There were about 260 pix, and it took her a long time, but she stuck with it. I'm proud of her!
Well, time to get cracking! I've still got a lot of catching up to do.

Back from my walk and it can't make up its mind if it wants to stay sunny or cloud over.

Everybody in the heat stay cool and drink plenty of fluids.
Hot one here today in the mid 90's. 100 degrees again tomorrow. Hopefully next week breaks that streak and this doesn't become a Tuesday thing for us this year.
Built up some social credit today, and will be doing so for a while. Hopefully everyone stays alive long enough to pay it back one day.

In other news from BC, a 700 pound, 10 foot long sturgeon was caught on the Upper Fraser river near Lillooet. First time sturgeon fisherman got it. It was tagged then let go. The sturgeon is an endangered species in Canada. This one was thought to be around 100 years old.

I finally got to meet the lady down the street. The yard and house are very tidy on the outside, but for the longest time I thought it was a vacant repo just being looked after by a bank bc I never saw anyone there and there was no car in the driveway. I FINALLY saw a lady doing some weeding a few months ago, but she was a little too far away to introduce myself, but yesterday she was at the curb so I stopped to chat, introduced myself and exchanged numbers. It turns out she was on chemo 8 years ago for lymphoma, but she seems quite healthy now.
Got a bunch of stuff done indoors, mopped the kitchen floor and did a big kitchen cleanup, did some online comparison shopping for supplements with dear daughter as she was quite anxious to get that done and I DID promise, and today I'll do a lot more indoor stuff that got put off bc of yardwork and dr appts. My gosh, staying healthy is a full-time job! I thought once the cheno and radiation were done there wouldn't be such a parade of Dr appts, but no.
I'll do a few minutes outdoors, walk the dog, and then xfer my attention to the piles of work indoors. A friend dropped off some household items yesterday that she wasn't using and I have to put those away for sure and just, in general, tidy up, which will make cleaning a lot easier. Also refill meds, soak my feet while I sort the mail.
FINALLY. I'm supposed to do soak my feet AND sort the mail every week and haven't managed for three. Every day I say to myself I'm going to take the day in an orderly fashion and every day I get caught up in a whirlwind of what I need to do with/for the family.
Well, time to get cracking, as the Scots say.

Only if it can make up its mind and as long as another heat dome doesn't land on top of BC again. That's what happened last June.
For today it was cloudy and cool when I went out but dry then on my way back it started spitting on me and now the sun is out. However the weather icon has rain drops on it, so just have to see.
