I have old photographs from my dad's side that I know most of the people in them and some have written on them the year and the people. Unfortunately the old photographs I have from my mom's side. Not so much with the writing and years.
I think it will all work out. I just need more time over there. I was planning on going back over this week, but I really need to be getting some stuff done over here like I'm doing right now. Also, I think my aunt is a little overwhelmed with how much crap is now out in the garage that she has to worry about salting out with the trash. she keeps talking about renting a dumpster and that is completely unnecessary. I keep telling her that she asks me if we can clear the house out by the end of summer anyhow, so just keep throwing it out bit by bit while I'm clearing things out and it should all be out by then. Her city is real good about trash pickup and they took about a dozen bags last week on top of the cans. Once the bags are out, then she can put one big or a few small pieces of furniture out with the trash too. I told her that I can make trips around garbage day to do more dehoarding so I can help her with the heavy stuff, or my uncle lives right in the neighborhood and would be happy to help her with that.
Something my grandma said the other day makes me think that its possible we won't be able to name a lot of those old time photographs. It's possible that the entire lot of them were from her first husband's family. He'd be my grandfather by blood, but they split because he chose booze over a family and he died a long time before I was born. My actual grandpa died when I was 5 and they had been married around 25-30 years.

Sounds like you and your aunt have a good plan for the house. That's good. I hope you can get back over there this week after you finish some home chores.
That would be too bad if your grandmother can't. That's rough. All my grandparents died before I was born. Some of my older cousins on my dad's side may have known them but not me. My dad's father died while he was over in Europe fighting in WW II and his mom died after he got home from the war. My mother's folks were split too and her dad died maybe during the late 40s and her mother died in the late 50s. They split up after my mother's infant sister died. My dad's parents were together until my grandfather died as I mentioned. He went in 1942.

BC has managed to string together another couple of dry days. Not suppose to last though. More rain coming in for the later half of the week.
So, I don't need my jacket for my walk today.

Back from my walk. Meds refilled and dropped a form off at the dentist office as well.
A while back work crews were tearing up the sidewalk in front of the library. Today they are tearing up part of the road.

Usually people are so grateful that ANYONE takes an interest in their work, they're happy to talk about it. The only grumpy responses I ever got were from cops. They usually just say "Get out of here" so I've learned not to ask.

I got all the shelving units built except for the last two. I decided to go with 18 of them stacked three high instead of only 15... But I did decide to make the end ones only 2 feet wide so I can have about 28" of free space between them and the overhead door.
It wasn't until late in the day when I discovered that I had just enough legs to build everything... except the last damn piece was only 20.5" and all 71 of my other legs were 21"!!!!!!!!!
Problem solved though. I took a side trip to the big box store after grocery shopping and I got a piece of 2x8 junk wood that I can rip and make the last leg for under a buck.
So the shelves weren't totally free. They cost me a buck.
More like $11 when you count the five 200 packs of wood screws that I will have almost used up. (Normally $7.00 each, but I got them for $2.00 on sale). I didn't really use them up though. The three smallest sizes really weren't very useful for this project, so I probably still have 350 small screws that will have to find another use on another project some day.
But with that last piece being a piece of junk scrap, I can with honesty say that the entire project was done with recycled wood that I kept out of a landfill and will make use out of for as long as I'm living here now.
Big day tomorrow. I finally get to wrap up the new shelving system, then I can start going through all of my wood and deciding what to keep and what to throw out when my cans are empty Thursday afternoon.
If I play my cards right I can get everything organized on my new shelves, purge what I don't need anymore, and have my place ready to work on finishing that electric and getting some real light in there to see what I'm doing on my soon to be empty work benches.
What a novel idea. I'll actually be standing up while working on future projects on my benches instead of kneeling on concrete like an animal.

When we get a couple of dry days they are really sunny and beautiful. Just wish it was more than a couple here and a couple there.

The library was replacing the sidewalk and pipes then. This time I'm not sure what exactly. Could be doing some resurfacing after all of that. Smooth out the pavement.

Not yesterday, tho. Yesterday I was flogging the phone bc I decided to untangle our doctors, testing, and physical therapy appointments. Some conflicted, and the rest were scattered to require maximal number of trips. Since that involves a drive on the most congested freeway in the whole of the USA those are trips I want to minimize. So I managed to double or sometimes triple-up appointments. I saved us five trips over two months. (and with gas at $6/gal that saves us money as well as time.)
Also scheduled hubby for much-needed doctor/surgeon visits. I'll have to drive for some of these, so I've been practicing driving around town, getting my confidence back. The problem is that chemo gave me severe neuropathy in my hands and feet. My hand seems to be getting better, but everything from the balls of my feet forward remain stubbornly numb and tingly ... I don't really feel the brake and gas pedals, so I have to drive in socks bc the less between me and the pedals the better off I am.
Today we got a marine layer going, so it should be cool enough to finish off prepping a large part of one vegetable garden. Tomorrow I should be able to buy the plants (assuming there are any left at the nursery) and set them in. Then it's on to more yard cleanup. Have to be careful to stay hydrated and electrolyted (ya, I know, not a word) tho and be nice to my kidneys.
