Yes, I did. But the good stuff is always on the top shelf of the freezer. So, I went and got a mop from another aisle and used the handle to knock a box over and off the shelf. Luckily I managed to catch it. Usually the box winds up on the floor. .

Sometimes I go into the cookware aisle and grab tongs or a spatula, but if it's truly out of reach I find the tallest person available and ask them nicely to get it for me.

But I'll remember the mop trick.
What's your favorite flavor? Mine is chocolate, or triple chocolate. Not too sweet tho.

I've grabbed tongs from the cookware aisle and used them as well. Sometimes I ask for help nicely from other shoppers or get a clerk. But there wasn't anyone around today, so hence the mop.

I got a box of Magnum mini-bars. They are vanilla ice cream covered in a layer of dark chocolate. Not to sweet either which is why I like them.

I'm the guy who helps the short people grab stuff. I'm not very tall myself, but I got jumps for a white boy.

Well, what I was thinking about doing with swapping chairs won't work. Tried it today. Had to swap back.

Got back from Grams and got a ton of stuff done. I got ALMOST all of the stuff out of the basement. I thought for sure I'd get it done before I left, but holy crap there was a lot of mouse activity before they got rid of them. I'm hoping that they didn't get upstairs too. Nothing out in the open is contaminated, but there's still a lot of things to go through in the 1st and 2nd floors.

It certainly made deciding what to throw out and what to keep a lot easier. To my happy surprise, my Grandma didn't even seem to have any problem at all with me throwing all of that stuff out either. Especially not after I showed her photographs of the carnage as I was going along and doing it.

It looks as though most of the photographs survived, and the small percentage of them that didn't were extremely old-timey ones that I'm pretty sure my Grandma won't even be able to name at this point. I got them all into 4 boxes now by removing all of the old frames and throwing them out with about 40 other bags of junk and all of the furniture and shelving.

I made my aunt's and Grandma's day by finding a photo album they made back in 1990 when they took a trip to Niagara falls together. I also found two pictures of my Grandma when she was in her 20's. Cool how you never seen that before but even though she's at least 65 years older you just know.

I spent about 4 or 5 hours hosing down and bleaching all of the totes. They'll never be good for food or clothing again, but they'll be perfect in my garage on my new shelving. They didn't want them, so huge bonus for me.

I'll probably go back next week to do more. We're going to pass on having them come out by me to see my house this weekend since I was just out there. Gas prices are kind of prohibitive for everyone at the moment and there will be plenty of time for them to see what I've been up to around here.

You'd be great to have around when I need help. What I consider the good stuff always seems to be on the top shelf. Cereal, ice cream. Very annoying.

I hope the mice didn't make it any farther than the basement and it is great that you can help your grandmother and aunt like that.

That is so cool that you found photographs like that of your grandmother, Jack. Those are very precious. And that photo album too.

It'll be well worth the wait to have them come and see your place. I'm sure they'll be really proud of what you have done.

Out for my walk. Need a couple of things and have to drop something off at the library.
