I'm almost half way through Series 6 of "Shetland" and it is very good but very intense.
I really feel for Jimmy. I was lucky that I didn't have to deal with dementia in my family or with my mum's friend. Though she showed signs of it by not remembering certain people and at times forgetting my mum. I just want to wrap Jimmy in a hug.

Back and in on a fairly warm day out.

Got back on that ladder for 8 hours and painted two coats on them. Tons of compliments all around, so I'm pleased they're pleased.
Went over to my grandma's and had dinner there and ended up staying overnight again. I brought my limb cutter and cut away a few trashcans worth of limbs from a tree that was right up against the house, then I went and got the same ant bait that I used a few years back to take care of her ant problem that is starting to get out of control. Just overnight it was amazing how many we got. I had no idea her problem had gotten that bad. Should be taken care of in a day or two now. Helped my aunt get her new A/C into her apartment and will be going back one day soon to install it for her.
When I got back home I got about another $140 worth of free after rebate stuff that I paid for with a rebate so there wasn't any sales tax. More good stuff to give away as gifts.
Another few good days.

Sounds like you had a real good couple of days. That's great that you can help your grandmother and aunt.

Yeah. I was actually thinking about my other grandma today who passed away around 7 years ago now. She was quite a bit better off than this grandma, but she was always offering me some money to come out and fix this or that or paint this or that for her when she had no problem paying pros to do the work. I know she just wanted to see me instead of talking o the phone like we frequently did. I rarely ever made it out there because I rarely ever made it out of my house because of the drinking.
I try not thinking about it too much because you can't go back and it makes me sad. A part of me just really hopes she sees me now and is smiling. I'm not making all the right choices now, but I'm really trying.

I'm sure she did want to spend time with you. And I am quite sure that she is looking down and smiling on you. You have put in a lot of hard work in the last few years and it does mean something.
