That's a lot more than a savings tax.
I was going to say that the FED already has a savings tax when they make you count the pittance you get on your near-zero savings account interest as income on your 1040, but this goes well beyond that.
I won't bother imagining what other people would go thorough if this became a thing, but if they did that in my state, I'd be paying more for this new tax than I currently do in property taxes.
And I don't have all that much.
And I haven't had a job since the third quarter of 2019.
