OSC's art is separate from his person. Anyone remember reading Death on the Installment Plan in college? Or just for fun? Celine was a complete shit, one of the worst people imaginable (Vichy government loved him, he gave up lotsa Jews) and that diminishes his work not even a little bit. George Bernard Shaw was a vegetarian, lowest form of life on this Earth, and his plays are amazing and wonderful a hundred years later.

I've been pondering this a bit more today and I suddenly realised that my posts in my thread turned me into the person I dread becoming the most: Michael Moore. Very scary.
The weird thing is I agree with lots of Moore's positions and yet the messenger gets in the way of the message to such a degree that you don't care what he has to say. Bah. Next thing you know I'll be wearing lumberjack shirts and not shaving properly.
Oh, and Static, a special apology to you personally because it was your thread I helped crash down. You can't actually edit/delete comments on blogs so that one might be stuck there.

I did not joind the other thread cause it started to scare me a bit. I have joined in other opinion lobbing threads, but in the place they belong: the world events discussion threads.
