Japan to boost military spending amid East Asian threats
Japan is set for record defense spending in 2022 as China continues to expand its military and North Korea adds to its missile arsenal.
That marks a 1.1 percent increase from the year prior and the tenth straight year that Japan has ratcheted up spending in the sector.
Japan, along with its ally the United States, has expressed concern that China's desire to assert sovereignty over Taiwan poses a security risk in the region.
China has increased its military deployments over the island that it views as a rogue state. Taiwan maintains that it is a sovereign country.
The Japanese and American military have reportedly recently devised a draft plan for action in the event that an emergency in Taiwan arises.

Philippine President Duterte's China pivot hasn't reduced tensions in the South China Sea
Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte's Beijing-friendly postures have not tamed China's assertiveness in the South China Sea, said Peaches Lauren Vergara of Amador Research Services.
The next Philippine leader, who will be elected in May 2022, should be bolder in challenging Beijing, Vergara wrote in a report published by the Asia Society Policy Institute.
The Philippines cannot resolve the South China Sea dispute on its own, said think thank International Crisis Group. The country should push for a "code of conduct" between Southeast Asian countries and China to manage maritime tensions, the think tank said.

Gotta' say, looking at all of THUGGER's links to msn, it looks like msn is now full-time whoring for the deep state. And the Deep State wants war with China.
So, what does the US propose all the SE Asian countries do in regards to China? Spit at it? Anyone who proposes that they can significantly affect China, either separately or together, is, well, proposing that they commit suicide. I hope those countries know better than to listen to the US's opinions about what they should do about China. And that they know that any almost-promises from the US about US support aren't going to be kept.
Anyway, considering how badly things are going for the US/ NATO in Eastern Europe, this looks like the US Deep State is trying to provoke an active war with China, by egging on small nations to 'do something'.
Also, either the US has given up on Hong Kong and Taiwan as places to start a local conflict with China, and has moved on to secondary players, or we'll be seeing more news about those 2 places in the near future.
