S.Korea, Taiwan, Sweden, Japan and other countries seem to do ok even though there was no offical nationwide lockdown....although Sweden had a cost in elderly as it entered nursing homes and killed many compared to other Nordic nations.
However some have done very bad trying this 'herd immunity' thing, Brazil had no lockdown and its numbers are terrible.
A while back the center of the virus shifted from China into Europe, places like Italy Spain hit, now the centers are South America, USA, India, Brazil adn Eastern Europe.
Perhaps fighting the virus, or troouble dealing with the virus it a helath s ervice thing or a cultural thing?
Uruguay and Iceland...maybe or maybe not...jury is still out...Iceland is an island nation so it can not be compared to mainland Europe.
