So, I believe that the above opinion-piece needs to be unpacked and discussed. I found it while bunny-trailing my way thru the internet on
The concept and operations of SWIFT and what being sanctioned out of it means;
The China-Russia financial, economic and military "strategic partnership" and whether that extends to being prepared to be sanctioned OUT of SWIFT (China actually just completed a series of partnership deals with SWIFT - based in Belgium - so it is unlikely that China even CAN be booted out of SWIFT. It is my opinion that China will use the SWIFT to try and internationalize their yuan.)
The extent of US dollar (USD) reserves in foreign countries.
The adoption of official cryptocurrencies by various nations. (Well advanced in China, and being trialed or researched in many others including UK, EU, and Russia.)
*****
Whenever big changes take place, someone benefits and someone else's ox is going to get gored.
If the IMF/BIS switched to Special Drawing Rights (SDR) as the medium of international exchange and assigns SDRs on the basis of things like the amount of commodities a nation controls and its production capacity, then the USA is hosed and the USD will be devalued, leaving holders of USD reserve currency/ US Treasuries deeply unhappy. MANY unhappy central banks and MANY unhappy nations; unless the IMF refills their coffers with SDR.
If an official cryptocurrency is adopted in the USA, then many banks and credit card companies will be unhappy, unless the USA cryptocurrency is made to work with banks and other payment systems. I imagine that The Fed will try to keep systems running in parallel bc its member banks will howl with outrage otherwise.

Never been a big fan of cryptocurrency. If you store your wealth on your smartphone or computer disk, what happens if it crashes? If you exchange eletronically, what happens when the electricity fails or internet goes down?
I think it's a stupid system. But maybe that's what 5G is all about.

Anyway, this is my understanding:
Even our 'money' today mostly exists in bits. Various websites I've gone to estimate roughly 10% of US money exists in physical cash, while the rest is what they call 'ledger money'. As I've read, the difference is that currency is 'bearer money' immediately redeemable for exchange, while 'ledger money' is redeemable only at the discretion of the holder of the ledger.
The difference between ledger money and cryptocurrency is that the value of ledger money is agreed to by governments, and ledger money is held by large institutions where the amounts are publicly available.
Cryptocurrency is ... well .. crypto. If somebody has it, even a lot of it, it's not necessarily public knowledge. Who and how much are mysteries.
Anyway, I think cryptocurrency is too volatile to be a government-held currency. The value goes up and down wildly, depending on who's speculating in what on any given day. IMO, you might as well throw baseball cards into the basket.

Tell them to come to my paid-in-full house in the next 9 years and try and take it and see what happens to them.
I imagine it will go even worse for them than it will the people they send to try and force a vaccination on me.

One Ring to Ruse Them All?

So, another thread (about the co-option of "the left") caused me to realize that the great success of the transnational elites (in their drive to rule the world) was convincing people not just to hate others, but also to HATE THEMSELVES. So, in order to "end racism" white people should feel guilty for being white. Men should feel guilty for being men, and women should feel guilty for being women.
In order to "save the world" consumers (and that means everyone) should feel guilty for using fossil fuels, for eating meat, for even being alive.
That way, "the masses" (i.e. "us") can be convinced to voluntarily lower our standard of living, to off ourselves (economically) so the elites will have more for themselves. Their vision of the future is a world where "the masses" (i.e. "us") are told what to do by the "elites" (i.e. "them") - eat bugs and other substandard food, go cold and hungry, live a miserable existence- and we do it, in order to "save democracy" or "save the world" or what-have-you.
And the sad thing is, most people WANT to be told what to do. Most people meekly bow their heads, having been told (and accepting) that they are a scourge on the earth, parasites, "useless eaters" who would be better off not existing at all. And THAT'S because they have been conditioned by decades and decades of advertising to think of themselves as passive "consumers", not as participants who can actively better the world by repairing and preserving, committing to equality and opportunity, restoring the environment, rebuilding neighborhoods etc.
Where is the positive image of people making a better world? Where is hope?
As Chris Martenson so often says: "It doesn't have to be this way"
