Last week, a number of newspapers, including the Washington Post, decided not to run Sunday’s Non Sequitur comic. The cartoon featured a parody of the the popular Where’s Waldo? series of children’s books with the caption “Picture book title voted least likely to ever find a publisher…” followed by a drawing of a charming park scene and the answer/punchline: “Where’s Muhammad?” Andrew Alexander, the Post’s Omsbudsman, has now written a letter stating the paper’s editors were wrong for removing the cartoon.

From the Washington Post:

“Surely some may be displeased by ‘Where’s Muhammad?’ But unlike with the Danish cartoons, it’s hard to imagine it would incite protests. Miller intentionally did not depict Muhammad, and the cartoon is not a blasphemous attack on the prophet. If anything, it’s a powerful and witty endorsement of freedom of expression.

Of course they were wrong to pull it, and had the sense to say so after the fact. No, it's not Islam shutting down the left's freedom of speech...note the White House reaction to the misinterpretation of that woman recently, I forget her name, firing her before they knew the whole story.

It's called overreaction, hyper PC, ridiculous panic...whatever you want. It's not the fault of Islam anyway...if you want to point fingers, point them at the MUSLIM TERRORISTS, who don't represent Islam any more than you do a thinking, reasonable person. Blaming this idiotic bureaucratic decision on Islam is irrelevant and stupid.

Check out the chain of events which occurred when the Mohammad (PBUH) cartoons were printed.

More protests occurred in January 2006, and later that month a boycott of Danish goods began. Several countries withdrew their ambassadors to Denmark, and widespread protests, some of them violent, began. The protests continued in February. In Damascus, Syria, both the Norwegian embassy and a building containing the Danish, Swedish, and Chilean embassies were stormed and set on fire by protesters. In Beirut, thousands of people protested on the streets, and the Danish General Consulate was stormed and set on fire.

As of 2 March 2006, at least 139 people have died primarily during riots stemming from protests. On 1 January 2010, a man was shot whilst attempting to kill Kurt Westergaard, one of the original cartoonists .

Here, NO portrayal of Mohammad was even printed, but there mere hint that someone 'might' find it offensive was enough to get the paper to pull the cartoon.
