the MAPS are what really spells out the changes
It seems to have been PREDICTABLE
and forseen in our predictions threads although some people also posted stupid predictions and conspiracy in those threads
Labour < -- British spelling or the Labour party would have normally picked up votes and support in Middle Class, Lower Wage areas of England, people who traditionally supported Workers Rights, Unions I suppose in a ways the traditional Labour could have been compared to Libertarians, the Democrats, Liberal Democracy ideas and the left politics of N.America
All of the Left support, all of that Labour vote acorss England has started to vanish
The Scots are also strong, maybe its rooted in blood and history and I would not be shocked to see more Scottish break away politics and Scottish nationalism
Northern Ireland politics looks to be a little of the same with some new changes
Welsh its a weird mix of indie, maybe green, the Welsh nationalists seemd to have done weak, a little of both Labour and Conservative in Wales
The Brexit party some of which would have been once UKIP. this party seems to have collected no votes, ZERO
a sea of leftwing red changes to a sea of conservative blue

England, Scotland, Welsh the British people have a kind of strange voting system like the French and others do, you do not run three or four laps, you sprit very fast and the first out wins, they use a First
past the post British voting system, explained simply it would mean if three parties ran one of them could collect say 35% and be declared a winner, this system while giving people the right to vote can also lead to unpopular minority governments in Europe and Britain and other countries, hung parliments and "coalition" formed to make a government. In these kinds of votes you will have winners, losers, people who cheer and people who booo and sneer some person they did not want, however Boris won strong.
I also seen a bunch fo other circus joke clown parties, Lord Buckethead, the BNP Fascists, the English Feminists, Monster Raving Loony some crazy old dude in colorful clothes carrying a cat around and the Church of the Militant Elvis I dont think they got many votes
Boris Johnson will be returning to power a bigger majority, his message was clear or clearer and that's maybe how he got votes. The left lost and there will be some leftwings who still do not accept him or the Conservative 'Tories'. Maybe Boris Johnson's majority could mean better things for the British and more power to deal with Europe the EU and for Brexit?
Effect of Brexit on Gibraltar, a rock on the South of Spain and other overseas territory?

Quote:One of the things that Brits are bemoaning is the opportunities that BoJo pissed away, thanks to mismanagement and political - economic stupidity. BoJo, they say, should have been busy making deals around the world ... with China, with India, with Russia, Indonesia, with nations in S America nd any natin they could be trading with.

Instead (and knowing that their N Sea oil is already depleted) they shut down for Covid, and played pointman for USA's "anti-China, destroy Russia with sanctions and warfare" politics. Which led to the highest energy prices and worst economic peformance since recodkeepng began. Nothing to do with Brexit, just sheer stupidity and/or cowardice from BoJo, Truss, and Sunak, who have shown NO political independence from the USA. Or care for Britain's ACTUAL interests.
Really, really stupid. Just like Germany.

12 years of Conservative government have turned the UK from a well-run country into a dysfunctional mess. Some of the reasons why, in chronological order:
1) Austerity after the financial crash - UK was an international poster child for this policy. It's been shown to be self-defeating; our finances are in a worse state now than they would've been without it.
2) Brexit - pure, unadulterated economic self-harm. The value of the £ plummeted immediately following the vote and has only gone down further. Brexit has also consumed all energies of government, so managing this monstrous project has distracted the country from all other problems that need attention
3) Terrible PMs - another gift of Brexit. Any prime minister of the UK now needs to be stupid enough to believe in the cause of Brexit, or charlatan enough to pretend to. Either way, it guarantees that you are only ever going to get terrible prime ministers.
We can also talk about the economic shocks of the pandemic and the war in Ukraine of course - but these are the same economic headwinds all European countries have had to deal with and they are all faring much better.

“Hanging on in quiet desperation is the English way.”
As a new political year begins, those nine words seem more apposite than ever, and they snugly fit one defining fact of our national predicament: that the wreckage of Brexit is all around us but our politicians will still not acknowledge it. The evidence now encompasses reduced trade, diminished investment and the fact that the UK has been the only major economy not to have returned to its pre-pandemic size. Brexit has resulted in a hit to tax revenues estimated at an annual £40bn – enough to have prevented 75% of the spending cuts and tax rises that were announced in November.
Meanwhile, amid impossible passport queues and howls of pain from businesses now tied up in red tape, stories that symbolise the folly of our exit from the EU seem to arrive at least one a week. Just before Christmas, for instance, it was reported that the Metropolitan police would now be buying armoured ministerial cars from the German manufacturer Audi because no UK firm was “able to meet the requirements of the tender”. Here was more proof of the supply-chain problems that are afflicting British producers, and a malaise that has caused annual UK car production to fall by more than half since 2016.
The government responds to such news with its usual ludicrous evasions: “I don’t deny there are costs to a decision like Brexit,” said Jeremy Hunt in November, “but there are also opportunities, and you have to see it in the round.” Meanwhile, even now, Tory zealots cling to the belief that life outside the EU could still deliver all the promised prosperity and general magic, if only ministers would try harder.
