I was just going over the episodes, making a list of all the Chinese stuff and the translations. I just ran into one that isn't in the archive on the site: "Serenity" at about 8 min 45 sec, Wash says something like "Ai ya, oo ah lay." I know "Ai ya" means "damn," but what does the rest mean?

Every well-bred petty crook knows that the small, concealable weapons always go to the far left of the place setting.

According to the Firefly Chinese Pinyinary site http://fireflychinese.home.att.net/

Quote:

Ai1ya1! Huai4le5!
Ai ya! Hwai leh! [Wash sounds like Ai ya! Hoo ah lay!]
"S--- on my head!"
Wash, as Alliance ship does scan of them

哎呀!壞了!㆒哎呀!坏了!
ai1ya1 Damn!; huai4le5 ruined, spoiled, exclamation of bad news [huai4 to ruin; le5 imperative marker, change-indicating marker]

Packer fans welcome.
All others tolerated.
