When corporations can be put to death for criminal behavior, then they can be considered "people". But until they face the same penalties, pay the same taxes, follow the same laws as actual living people, they shouldn't be considered people.
Corporate personhood is an example of a legal interpretation determined by MONEY.
And since Dems would never (God forbid) cross their corporate donors, they are reduced to weasel words, hot air, and empty promises.
If they ever decide to be better than Repubs and do something real- even if difficult, people will swing to them in droves. Until then, they're just corporate shills.

Conkling argued to the Supreme Court in San Mateo County v. Southern Pacific Rail Road that the 14th Amendment is not limited to natural persons. In 1882, he produced a journal that seemed to show that the Joint Congressional Committee that drafted the amendment vacillated between using “citizen” and “person” and the drafters chose person specifically to cover corporations. According to historian Howard Jay Graham, “[t]his part of Conkling’s argument was a deliberate, brazen forgery.”
As Thom Hartmann notes the Supreme Court embraced Conkling’s reading of the 14th Amendment in a headnote in 1886 in Santa Clara County v. Southern Pacific Rail Road

Signym, Corporations have been people for so long that there is no way to undo it, unless the Democrats can revise the 14th Amendment to exclude Corporations, but there won't be even one Republican Senator who will vote for the revision or even one Republican controlled state that will ratify such a change.

SECOND, if they can modify the Constitution to prohibit the sale of alcohol, and modify AGAIN to undo the prohibition, don't you think it can be modified for a more important purpose?

The most important question of 19th Century America couldn't be solved with words because the slave-owners in Senate were obstinate. Those slave-owners were absolutely convinced that they were morally, mentally, culturally superior. You don't need to be reminded how that slavery political question got solved, do you? but it wasn't with words.
Now America is facing several important political questions that cannot be solved with words because there are obstinate Republican Congressmen who will not be moved by words because the Republicans are absolutely certain about their superiority -- morally, mentally, culturally. I keep wondering if the Democratic Congressmen realize they have to stop talking and, instead, remove Republican Congressmen? Senators got booted out of the Senate when their states went to war with America in the 1860s. It was NOT their slave-owning voters who voted those slave-owning Senators out of office; it was other Senators. But then the 21st Century Democrats can't even go beyond words when witnesses show contempt of Congress and refuse to testify about Trump. What are Congress and AG Garland going to do about it? Maybe nothing but endless words:

Conservative pundit Ann Coulter has accused former President Donald Trump of "betraying" his base and being "abjectly stupid" in his inability to deliver on his promise to build a border wall.
Although Coulter wrote the bestseller In Trump We Trust, E Pluribus Awesome! ahead of the 2016 presidential campaign, the right-wing firebrand has become ever more critical of the former president.
In an interview on Andrew Sullivan's Dishcast on November 5, Coulter said she knew what Trump's character was like before he was elected but supported him anyway because of his immigration policy and pledge to build the wall on the southern U.S. border.
"I was well familiar with what a narcissistic, ridiculous, tacky, vulgar, arriviste this guy was," she told Sullivan. "That I knew about. The one thing I underestimated, in fact, did not see at all is, I had no idea how abjectly stupid the man is."
She accused Trump of "not keeping his promises" and "directly betraying his base," which consisted of people who were "Americans waiting their whole lives for someone to care about them."
She said that during 2016, when promoting In Trump We Trust, journalists would tell her: "'Oh he's not really going to build the wall,'" she said. "I'd laugh and say, 'No the one thing he's got to do is build the wall.'
"My theory was if he doesn't build the wall, he loses reelection. He didn't build the wall, he lost reelection," she said. "I just couldn't imagine anyone could be so stupid to run on one thing and just not do it."
Coulter praised President Joe Biden for "keeping a promise Trump made, but then abandoned when he got to office" in withdrawing U.S. military troops from Afghanistan.
