White students at Coosa High School in Georgia waved the Confederate flag and hurled racial slurs leading up to homecoming. The students with the Confederate flag did not face repercussions. School administrators suspended several students of color who were protesting. Two white students participating in the Friday protest were not suspended, even though they claimed to be as disruptive as the Black students.

It is VERY American to insist there is no racism in middle of an event that is all racism and then the American gets very upset/angry when someone contradicts the American who angrily insists something that is false is actually true. Americans hate to be contradicted, especially when the American is full of nonsense and foolishness and excessively proud.

Racism definitely comes into play. In order to do what they did, slave traders and owners had to think of 'negroes' as an inferior humans, or maybe not even humans. Whole treatises and categories of thinking were devoted to describing how inferior slaves were. It was even enshrined in the Constitution, when slaves were not counted a fully human beings.

BTW there was also a lot of I believe British slave trade in and out of S America at the time, and Indians and Asians (mostly Chinese) were also subject to the same stereotypes and 'thinking'.

Slavery has existed for roughly 11,000 years. Whites enslaving whites, black enslaving black, Asians enslaving Asians and so on. For thousands of year’s slavery was not about racism. That needs to be taught to put slavery into context. Racism is a modern creation. It's nothing more than a term to explain the dislike between blacks and whites in this country that developed due to slavery.

Your theory doesn’t work until explaining what slavery in America morphed into. And if you read my post about slavery being about economics you’ll see it doesn’t deny that racism exists today comrade.

Have a lot of Blacks in Russia do you?

Subjective, therefore meaningless. Just a distraction from the topic.

Slavery isn't always about race, although race does make it a much easier pill to swallow for some people than others when the other people look so much different to them.

What slavery IS, is always about one group of people believing that they are superior to the other group. That can come in many forms. The haves vs. the have nots. Religious beliefs. Cultured vs. uncultured. etc.

There is a whole lot of REAL slavery going on around the world right now. Right now.

And what we see happening to the American Worker today is what I feel has become the perfect form of Slavery. Slavery without the slaves even being aware that they really are being enslaved. When you're living paycheck to paycheck either because your job(s) doesn't provide enough to do otherwise, or you made and continue to make horrible financial decisions that never allow you to get out from underneath the debt, and you and everybody else you are responsible for are completely dependent on your employer and the horrible job(s) you punch in and punch out every day just to continue eeking out an existence, it's not all that far off from slavery.

Sure... you might not be getting physically whipped and your employer can't point a gun at your head if you start working too slow, but the soul crushing emotional toll of it all can just suck the humanity right out of you over time. Taking shit all day from the bosses. Taking shit all day from the entitled customers. Coming home and arguing with your spouse because you're behind on the bills another month. Unhappy job. Unhappy home. Unhappy everything.

Oh well... Time to devour a bag of Doritos and watch some Netflix.

“Critical Race Theory” has become a 21st-century version of Republicans’ Willie Horton appeal—and it’s working.

Critical Race Theory is not taught in Virginia public schools, but it became the catchall phrase that drove the governor’s race after McAuliffe said, “I don’t think parents should be telling schools what to teach.” The gaffe precipitated the Democrat’s slide in the polls. “Critical Race Theory has become the laundry basket that holds everything that especially suburban white parents have become frustrated about,” says Quentin Kidd, a political scientist at Christopher Newport University in Virginia.

While critical race theory is only taught in grad schools and law schools, parents are concerned about how schools are teaching history. Democrats need to take account of these attitudes.

Just stop dude.

Ted would appreciate that you don't double down on the stupid so Democrats don't keep losing elections going forward.

No elementary schools to high schools teach Critical Race Theory. But Fox News is yammering about Critical Race Theory as a threat to all white people and white voters are paying attention to Fox News, not what is actually taught, and they are getting awfully over-stimulated. 6ix, you happen to be one of those white people with strong opinions and weak knowledge. It is no surprise you act the way you do about Critical Race Theory.

Youngkin demonstrated that Trumpism with a smile can swing enough suburban voters back into the Republican fold to make a statewide victory for the GOP in Virginia a reality. He did it by highlighting the grievances of parents frustrated by the restrictions forced by the pandemic and a belief that their kids had become political pawns in an ideological battle over racial equity initiatives launched after the horrific murder of George Floyd last year.

Yes. They do.

And unfortunately for you, parents got to see exactly what their kids were being taught during the lockdowns for a year and a half and they didn't like it.

Quit lying.
