Alec Holowka commits suicide after allegations

Zoë Quinn, creator of the game Depression Quest, accused Alec of sexual assault and abuse on Twitter and led to claims all over social media of supposed assault. This led to condemnation and even shortly after without any evidence and just allegations, leading to the creators of Night in the Woods cutting ties with the person.
This pushed Alec over the edge and on August 31, his sister, Eileen Holowka, had announced her brother had taken his own life. She explained that while he was indeed mentally ill, he had been getting treatment and was about to get his life back on track and even claimed he wished the best for Zoë. After the news broke that Holowka had committed suicide, Quinn, along with Scott Benson and Bethany Hockenberry (Alec's former colleagues and coworkers for NITW) had all nuked their Twitter accounts; it is highly likely they did so as a cowardly measure to negate any incoming backlash they could've inevitably received. Zoë Quinn reactivated their account five days later, citing mental health reasons for the account deactivation and insulted her critics calling them "opportunist creeps" as well as refusing to take responsibility for Alec's death.
As for Night in the Woods by other team members, they have continued to remain in hiding and no one has heard a peep out of them since the allegations surfaced.

Following an anonymous Twitter account’s claims that Kennedy was a sexual predator, game writer and narrative designer Meg Jayanth posted accusations on the social media site claiming that Kennedy was a “well-known predator in the games industry” and that the only reason we hadn’t heard of it before now was because he “has retaliated against people who have spoken out against him in the past.”

Jayanth’s accusations were numerous but vague. She accused Kennedy of befriending young women entering the industry and exploiting them but didn’t post details. She accused Kennedy of targeting vulnerable people and “particularly young women” but didn’t post specifics. Nobody was named and nobody came forward.

Don't know where you got that quote, but Zoey Quinn wasn't falsely accused of anything. She absolutely was sleeping with people for the reviews.
Years later, she also deleted a tweet where she falsely accused fellow game designer Alec Holowka of abuse after it ruined his career and he killed himself.
Zoey Quinn is a bigger piece of shit than the Roomba, Second and Nilbog combined ever could hope to be.
