I actually have mixed feelings about the following incident, because, to me ... it depends ...

A private all-white girls school showed (not as part of the curriculum) a 'Video Calling White Women "Entitled" And "Annoying"' on the last day of class. And parents are up in arms.

Obviously I disagree with the sentiment in the video. And believing all (name a group of people) are (name a negative characteristic) is discriminatory, no matter the details. Calling all white women entitled and annoying is the same as calling all black men lazy gang-bangers.

OTOH, if the children are old enough, and you show these videos to teach them about the world - hey, guess what, not only is it true that all people don't love you just because of your skin color and sex; some people even hate you for them! - you're doing them a favor. Sending them out into the world without knowledge of its realities is ultimately very destructive and unloving to your children.

To whom was it presented? How was it presented? I think those particulars matter.

Was it presented to the kids?

If the answer is yes, whoever showed it should be fired.

Was it presented to the staff?

If the answer is yes, whoever forced the staff to sit through that bullshit should be fired.

Racism is racism. Unless they're going to show videos all day long of black men killing each other and random kids that get in the way of the bullets, and black women going to the register at a grocery store with 6 kids in tow and a shopping cart so full that stuff is falling onto the floor that she's going to pay for with food stamps and take out to the brand new Cadillac Escalade sitting in the parking lot, then they shouldn't be showing this video either.

You're either racist about nothing or you're racist about everything.

None of this double standard bullshit will be tolerated anymore.

Obviously I disagree with the sentiment in the video.

Should we not talk about assault because it's unpleasant? Maybe we shouldn't talk about extreme poverty - or obscene wealth - in the US because that's classist. While we're at it, lets not talk about immigration because that's xenophobic. And so on.

I think it's possible to discuss topics without indoctrination, so that people get a fuller view of reality. And if you want to know what some people say, better to get it straight from them.

When your "topics" is a euphemism for LIES, while 6ix pointed out that at the same time TRUTH is being submerged, subverted, and buried, your claim falls flat.

Am I going to argue with you or the video that there aren't extremely entitled white suburbanite women out there? Not a chance. They range the gamut from fat, college educated, pink-haired Twitter weirdo to Boomer Karen. There's a reason why I chose to work overnight retail... I ate shit sandwiches all the time when I was 16 years old but I'd get myself fired if some high and mighty old white bitch were to talk down to me like I'm a lesser person than her because I'm stocking shelves.

But obviously, to make a video saying that ALL white women are like that is ludicrous. I know you know that and you're not arguing this point.

AND, obviously, there are a lot of jag-off white men out there.

And black men.

And black women.

And hispanic men.

And hispanic women.

And asian men.

And asian women.

Any way somebody wants to dissect people and throw them into boxes, a good portion of those people are going to be jag-offs for one reason or another or ten.

I know it sounded like a troll when I was saying #SomeLivesMatter, but it wasn't. A LOT of lives really, really don't. And it has nothing at all to do with race or gender or religion or sexuality or whatever other division we put between ourselves.

I'm just getting pretty fucking sick and tired of it ONLY being okay to do this to white folk. REALLY tired of it.

Well, imo it's not OK, even if it's done to white people, even if it's blacks calling other blacks nigger. But that's just me.

Here's some information about the school: "... (alumni) includes actresses Gwyneth Paltrow and Kerry Washington and Michael Bloomberg’s daughter Georgina among its graduates. The K-12 school charges more than $57,400 a year per student."

So this is a really posh, uppercrust school.
