In bizarre news: Biden's Justice Department moves to defend Trump in defamation suit from accuser E. Jean Carroll

Carroll has accused the former president of sexual assault and defaming her by saying it "never happened."

The Justice Department lawyers wrote that Trump was "crude and disrespectful" in questioning Carroll's credibility and that comments attacking her appearance, impugning her motives and implying that she had made false accusations "were without question unnecessary and inappropriate." But, they said, they "all pertained to the denial of wrongdoing."

Carroll's attorney Roberta Kaplan said in a statement: "The DOJ's position is not only legally wrong, it is morally wrong since it would give federal officials free license to cover up private sexual misconduct by publicly brutalizing any woman who has the courage to come forward. Calling a woman you sexually assaulted a 'liar,' a 'slut,' or 'not my type,' as Donald Trump did here, is not the official act of an American president."

Trump's legal team responded to the Justice Department's bizarre move, saying that the suit "must be dismissed in a straightforward application of Congress’s decision not to waive sovereign immunity for defamation."

Biden should tell the DOJ: "You will not defend Trump for income tax evasion or rape as part of his official Presidential duties. Do you understand me or do I have to visit your office and yell at you?"

Trump will be fine.

New York is going to busy explaining why their fake Covid death numbers were so much higher than everyone else's despite the fact they destroyed more businesses with their response than any other state.

The Department of Justice did not place General Robert E Lee or Confederate President Jeff Davis on trial for either treason or mass murder, which makes as little sense as Biden's DOJ defending Trump. The DOJ has Justice in its name, but its not Justice when rich and powerful people can cheat on taxes, lie, and break the law in general and not only go unpunished, but not even go to trial! Maybe President Biden should take the same step that President Andrew Johnson took by pardoning all Civil War criminals, which didn't work out well for the ex-slaves or Reconstruction, but was great for ex-slave-owners and Confederate Officers. Biden should pardon Trump, which should work out just as great as pardoning all Confederate criminals and traitors.

In a final proclamation on December 25, 1868, Johnson declared "unconditionally, and without reservation, ... a full pardon and amnesty for the offence of treason against the United States, or of adhering to their enemies during the late civil war, with restoration of all rights, privileges, and immunities under the Constitution and the laws ..."

Any charges filed against Trump yet?

No?

Then this entire thread is to date an exercise in revenge porn fantasy.

SLOPPY - why do you never start any threads of your own but instead spend 100% of your time crapping up everyone else's? Is it because you really have NOTHING you want to discuss and are only here to troll?

“The majority of the evidence that we have on hand says that people who like Trump don’t care what he does – it just doesn’t matter if he breaks the law,” said Francisco I Pedraza, a political scientist at University of California Riverside. For those voters, “he can do no wrong. . . . Anything else doesn’t matter as long as he continues to be a champion for racist sentiments.”

As the ex-president hints at running once again, his future could lie in the courtroom, not the Oval Office. He’s Teflon Don no more, at least when it comes to court.

Donald Trump, no longer insulated by claims of presidential protections, faces a host of increasingly serious legal problems in some of the US’s most high-profile courts, including both criminal investigation and civil litigation.

So even as Trump maintains his grip on the Republican party and teases ambitions to run again for president in 2024 – his legal woes could render all that debate meaningless: Trump’s future could lie in the courtroom, not the Oval Office.

Trump “can face criminal charges for activities that took place before he was president, after he was president, and while he was president – as long as they were not part of his duties while he was president of the United States,” said attorney David S Weinstein, partner at Jones Walker LLP’s Miami office.

So - no charges yet?

Let me know when it happens - if it happens.

Until then, Trump's not even going to have a remote chance of going to jail. AND THAT'S THE US CONSTITUTION AT WORK.

SLOPPY - why do you hate America so much?

I've known both multiple children and multiple adults who have autism or Asperger's, and they behave nothing like SECOND's putrid behavior here.

Saying that SECOND has autism or Asperger's is an insult to people who have either!

After the Civil War, Confederate President Jeff Davis wrote a two volume history in which Lincoln was the bad guy and abolition of slavery was evil. Freeing the slaves caused the slaves great harm and it was all Lincoln's fault. Jeff Davis could prove he was good since he was never on trial for any crime. No crime. He was Innocent.

I look forward to Trump following the example of the Jeff Davis two volume history. In Trump's version of history, Obama and Biden are evil, but Trump is both innocent and good, just as Confederate President Jeff Davis was innocent of all wrong doing. Any talk about guilt was legally moot once President Andrew Johnson pardoned all Confederates on December 25, 1868. Trump gets his pardon on the first day of the next Republican President.

Jeff Davis: the Author
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jefferson_Davis#Author

I should make it plain as possible for Trumptards. During the Confederacy, and long after, Lincoln was evil and slavery was good. Up is down in the Confederacy. During Trump's Presidency, and probably long after, Democrats are evil and bad is good. Up is down in Trump World. What wrongs Trump did are good because he hasn't been convicted, just as Jeff Davis wasn't long in jail because he was never convicted. The Army imprisoned Davis, but a slave-owning President freed him without a trial.
