(05/06/2021): House Oversight Committee discusses proposal to ban ‘vaccine passports’
https://www.wilx.com/2021/05/06/house-oversight-committee-discusses-pr
oposal-to-ban-vaccine-passports/
- There was outpouring support by the public to approve the bill, but some representatives said the bill is preempted.
- “There is no amendment that will garner my support for this,” Representative Julie Brixie said she won’t support the bill because it’s not necessary. “There is no vaccine passport being proposed neither here in Michigan nor by the federal government.”
Why are they ALL lying. All of them.
They say that these bills aren't necessary? Then just pass them and move the fuck on.
But we know you want to allow Corporations to strip away American's freedoms for you.
You absolute pieces of shit.

Kansas might become a barometer for what's to come...
(05/06/2021): Kansas requests less than 9% of allowed vaccine doses; lawmakers try to revive vaccine passport ban, contact tracing limits

Democratic Gov. Laura Kelly’s office said Thursday that the state asked for fewer than 14,000 vaccine doses for the week, out of a federal allotment of almost 162,000. While the state sought its full allotment of 6,400 doses of a one-shot vaccine made by Johnson & Johnson, it requested only 7,510 doses of its allocation of 155,540 doses of two-shot vaccines manufactured by Pfizer and Moderna.
Kansas has seen its vaccination rate slow in recent weeks. It peaked at an average of 29,380 shots a day for the seven days ending April 6 and averaged only 11,872 for the seven days ending Wednesday, according to state Department of Health and Environment data.
Kelly spokeswoman Reeves Oyster said the state ordered less than its allotment “to ensure that no vaccine goes to waste.”
“Last week, providers cited low demand and sufficient inventory to handle a weekly increase in demand,” she said in an email. “Like the rest of the country, demand for the COVID-19 vaccine is slowing.”
People don't want it.
The media isn't going to be able to keep lying about that fact once volunteers stop lining up for their doses and billions of dollars of product start going bad.
What will they take away from us first, and who will be the ones taking it?

I may have to include a new category for "vaccination hesitancy" soon as well.
Although it's not being advertised in headlines, the same thing is happening in Illinois as well, particularly among minority communities, although it's strong in every community.
(05/06/2021): Illinois to move into 'bridge phase' of COVID reopening plan on May 14

Although Illinois has succeeded in getting a large percentage of its adult population vaccinated, IDPH reports that the daily rate of vaccinations has been declining as large segments of the population have been reluctant to receive their shots.
As of Thursday, the seven-day rolling average of daily doses administered stood at 70,063, down from a peak of nearly 133,000 per day in mid-April. But with the supply of vaccines now large enough to provide vaccines to anyone who wants one, Pritzker said he hoped that making them available through physicians’ offices will make it more convenient for more people.
“This is about making it as easy as possible for those who have not yet gotten vaccinated to protect themselves from COVID-19,” he said.
Still, there remain pockets of society that remain hesitant, whether that be for cultural, political or religious reasons, and the Pritzker administration is continuing its public relations campaign to reach out to those communities.
According to IDPH data, Sangamon County, which includes Springfield, has the highest rate of vaccination with nearly 39 percent of its population fully vaccinated. But in Alexander County, which includes Cairo at the southern tip of Illinois, only 11 percent are fully vaccinated.
You're going to have a lot of starving people on your hands if you allow businesses to dictate who can work and eat.
Then we'll see actual COVID-19 deaths en masse.
P.S. Unlike the leadership in Kansas, the leadership in Illinois won't ever lower the ordered doses and will let hundreds of thousands of them go to waste. Because Illinois.

I'm going to have to spend some time on this again soon. Looks like there have been some fairly big moves in the last week that I haven't updated.

What do you think the Great Depression was all about? Or the Great Recession? Or offshoring most US manufacturing? if not about the power of corporations to decide who and how many will work and where?
Or unemployment benefits? Food stamps? Medicare? if not about the government trying to sweep up after the corporate parade has passed by?
I'm just saying, corporate rule is an old story.

This is different.
This is going to be tens of millions of people with no legitimate income sources or the ability to buy goods and services.
If more crime is what they desire, they're going to get it.

Anybody know how on earth the major retailers are going to enforce the new mask policies they have?
While our Governor lifted the mask mandate here well over a month ago, all of the stores still required you to wear them. But after the new CDC announcement, a lot of them now say you don't have to wear a mask if you're vaccinated.
Do you really think that Dollar Tree and Aldi employees who are already consistently short staffed have the time or the desire to hassle maskless employees and get into arguments with customers all day long? Especially in the vast majority of the country where phone apps aren't being implemented to verify this?
This is nothing but a political shit show like it's always been from the start.
This has nothing to do at all with "protecting" people. This is entirely about control. They want everybody fighting each other.

As an aside, I can count on one hand the amount of people I've seen not wearing masks in the last week while I was out.
Sure... some of them just don't know about the change yet and are just as attached to their mask as they are their underwear at this point...
But a LOT of them aren't vaccinated, and have no plans to get vaccinated.
Good on them.
