In just 4 days, the Cassini probe will make its closest approach to Saturn's moon, Titan.

I've seen info on this one, its a joint NASA and ESA project with the USA and EU working on this Saturn mission, the Cassini-Huygens craft might land safely in the next few days

the view should be great, and maybe we'll discover many new things

Space.com has some raw images, too. Great stuff! The 'rivers' (likely made of liquid methane) are SO shiny.

Geezer, that's a good point. While it's certainly completely unfit for human life now, Titan is providing a very good example of the sort of place Joss would claim is terraformed in Firefly. Just need a LOT of heat!

OK. And we can go halfies on the bacteria and earthworms. Actually, I was hoping to buy a few billion nanomachines to do the heavy lifting for me. Just trying to figure out what style of house to have them build; Prairie or Adirondack.

I can't wait to see more environmental data come in. Probably not the healthiest spot in the system right now, but apparently there is actual water there.
