For Trump, Covid-19 was not an emergency needing to be fixed. On Trump's last day in office, he looked fat and well rested because he didn't work for 4 years. As a matter of fact, Trump skipped even pretending to work on his last day at work. He was in Florida rather than at the Inauguration in DC. In contrast, Obama writes about his last day: "Both of us were drained, physically and emotionally, not only by the labors of the previous eight years but by the unexpected results of an election in which someone diametrically opposed to everything we stood for had been chosen as my successor."
