Half of the good jobs are already shipped out of the country, with more going that way all the time.

And half the US citizens on the bottom are left fighting illegal immigrants who don't belong here in the first place for the shitty jobs that they can't ship overseas.

In the meantime... how many people do you suppose those automated tellers at McDonalds put out of work? Or the self checkout lanes at all the grocery and retail stores?

6ix, you seem to be under the impression that poor people own their jobs, not the rich people who pay the poor. Since the poor own almost nothing, nothing is how much say they have in who will do the job and where. On the other hand, the government (or even unions) can scare the living hell out of rich people, making the rich jump and do tricks or else lose their wealth. That is very obvious to the wealthy, who have taken steps so that is unlikely to happen. As for the poor, they have taken no steps and have no understanding about what the hell is happening and are extremely unlikely to ever expend energy or take intelligent risks to change things, which is exactly why they are poor in the first place.

Hence the term 'wage slave'.

Fortunately, we still have a nominal democracy. The question is, will people use their vote-power?

Up until Trump, that is.

No poor person even needs to take any risk at all. Al they need to do is vote for people who will represent them. And the vote will have power at least until the vote loses its anonymity and guards with machine guns enforce who will vote and who will be voted for.

Democracy smells like ... freedom.

SignyM:
Illegal aliens are good for profits and company owners but not for people who work for a living.

GDP figures are meaningless to the average person because of its heavily skewed distribution.

SECONDRATE: Now you're whining that the rich don't pay high wages to the people on the bottom 50% of the economic ladder. If you want Ebenezer Scrooge to pay more, you could deport most of his labor force made up of illegal Bob Cratchits, or you could have the government (the Ghost of Christmas Future) scare Scrooge into paying more. Making rich Scrooges fearful will work instantaneously, without shrinking the economy by getting rid of the poor Cratchits and Tiny Tims on crutches. Scrooge can pay more thanks to the heavily skewed wealth distribution, but he doesn't feel like paying more.

I'm complaining that the wealthy import cheap illegal labor that they can exploit.

It's clear to anyone who's been scanning your posts for any length of time that you love illegals. For some reason, you have allegiance to people from other nations, but you hate Americans.

Were your parents border jumpers? I can't account for your hatred of America, and Americans, any other way. If so, you would be a prime example of why border jumpers should not be allowed to reside here.

Democracy smells like ... freedom.

If you had started at the bottom of the economic ladder, like I did, and rose to top rung (that is me, again) you won't be writing bromides about how to raise the living standards of the bottom 50%. For now the American government will only move things like the minimum wage upwards a tiny bit because almost nobody who earns in the region of the minimum wage will act unfailingly sensible about it. The poor won't confront their boss for a raise because of fear of being fired. The poor won't join a union to confront the boss because they fear union bosses. The poor won't vote out a politician who doesn't support $15/hour.

Democracy does not work well when half the voters are paralyzed with fear of real world confrontation (not just confrontations that go on in secret ballots cast once every four years) and are obviously chickens: fearful of their bosses and the rich and running around in circles squawking endlessly, accomplishing nothing more than watching a great deal of TV and posting on fff.net.

I love when Polish Russian Collaborator Sgnym suggests it is others and not her that doesn't like America. It's just too funny.

I love it. Yup. I've only used that term 1000 times before.

I have no idea what the hell Second is even on about, as per usual. I don't know how you find the patience to read past the first sentence of any of his posts anymore. I couldn't even do it through your post.

I've noticed at work that when given a new task, Trumptards' minds go blank unless the task is similar to what they are familiar with, while Libtards understand after being told once. Why are Trumptards like that? It is not a mystery, but a Trumptard cannot be enlightened and cannot accept warnings to avoid the dead end paths their minds habitually follow. So sad for them and so annoying for their co-workers who take up the slack left by the Trumptards.

Oh, SECONDRATE has flat-out posted that he hates Americans, more than once. Haven't you noticed?

And he ALWAYS defends illegal aliens* over American citizens. They work harder, produce more money (for him), are more honest (except, of course, when then jump the border) and are more deserving in every way than Americans, who are lazy, stupid, entitled, dishonest, and must be fired because he doesn't like them and their opinions. At least. according to SECONDRATE.

*BTW, "illegal aliens" is a legal term, not a pejorative one. "Refugee" is ALSO a legal term with a specific meaning. I just love how SECONDRATE tried to present one as the other.
Thanks for lying, SECONDRATE! It's nice to know there are some things we can always count on!

I have noticed that Signym has written that many times, but Sig didn't get that from me, unless Sig thinks Trumptards are the only real Americans. Trumptards, at least in Texas, are gullible fools. I've always had disdain for fools going back to the Vietnam War where I was the fool for volunteering. There is reason to believe, looking at the entire nation, that all Trumptards are as easily fooled as they are in Texas:

Some Republican voters said their party supported policies like expanding Medicaid, which it has opposed. Winter notes that this dynamic has been around for some time:

This is a long-running trend, of voters, especially Republican voters, denying the extremism of the positions that the party holds on questions of political economy. Matthew Yglesias, formerly of Vox, terms this phenomenon “the politics of incredulity.” For him, such voters are a major reason why these conditions persist. He argues “voters find [the Republican Party’s position on economic issues] so outlandishly bad that they’ll only believe someone espouses them if you can convince them first that the person in question is a heartless monster.”

For Republican voters in particular, Yglesias adds: “Consequently, people who align with Republicans on broad values themes — whether opposition to abortion rights, love of guns, patriotism, or panic at the thought of a diversifying country — find it simply not credible that their champions are actually running on a politically toxic agenda that would clearly lose elections.”

What I've noticed is Polish Russian Collaborator Signym never missing an opportunity to lie and relentlessly post Russian propaganda.

Now, back to ignoring all you trolls.
