Thanks for the info. I had an Ethiopian friend who described for me the oldest Xtian church in Ehiopia (and possibly the entire world). For him it was a point of pride and a prized part of Ehiopian culture. Not for everyone, tho, apparently.

IMHO when these conflicts brew they're often organized around identitarian lines (religion, language, etc.) but they're almost always over resources (land, water, access to money or jobs or political power etc.).
