Without providing that liquidity, working capital and credit lines to healthy businesses, big and small, would have dried up. blah blah blah....
How surprising that a rich white guy would quote the corporate line.
In reality there was only one large bank Citibank (Shittybank) and one regional one that I know for sure (WAMU) that got caught without their shorts on when the tide went out.
Sheila Bair, then head of the FDIC, who recently wrote her memoirs, had an answer for the crisis: government takeover of Shittybank. Fire mahogany row and straighten it out. Maybe put a few in jail.
Crisis averted. But Obama had other ideas, including shoving money at ALL of the banks to protect the reputations of the ones not deserving of protection.
And meanwhile, not a single banker went to jail, and Glass Steagall never got re-enacted. Instead we got the abortion that was the Sarbanes Oxley Act, and the institutionalization of "bail-in".
So money went to the banks, the economy never really recovered which is why he could never get the deficit to go down, and the wealthy got off scott free.
Thank you, Mr Obama.

The amount of guilt he lives with daily is the only reason I think he at least has some money to his name.
More money = More guilt.
But nobody who has amassed any amount of money beyond what is needed to provide food and shelter for they and theirs ever parts with any of that money, unless there is a personal gain to be made from it.
Second hates himself for what he is. His guilt keeps him up at night.
And rather than do any good with any money he's hoarded, he's happy to continue to collect more and pile more guilt on himself. Projecting his own perceived flaws onto everyone around him, and blaming everybody else in the world except himself for how miserable he feels every day.

He's not interested in making sense. If he was, he would have made sense of his own behavior a long time ago. He embodies everything that's wrong with Democrats today: a hollow virtue-signalling golem, consumed by guilt and blaming everyone else for his failures. Except, unlike many of the hand-wringing virtue signallers whose sense of guilt was artificially promoted from the outside (guilty for being white, guilty for emitting carbon dioxide, etc) he really DOES have a reason to feel guilty, because he killed people.
And that's something he just can't live with.
And then, instead of being punished by the law or by god for killing people, he got rich. And that added to his feelings of guilt. But he just can't give up the money either, like he can't accept his moral failures ( Thou shalt not kill. I'm sure that was drummed into his head when he was growing up.) so he resolves the issue by blaming everyone but himself for what he's done.
That's why he grabs anything he can and flings it against this wall, whether it makes sense or not.
It's twisted, but I get it.

I don't know enough of JO's history to make sense of his delusion, but I'm going to take a stab at it and say that JO is very bright. But life, and the capitalist economy, hasn't treated him any too kindly or rewarded his cleverness or his abilities in the way that he believes should be natural and inevitable. So instead of reaching the conclusion that the system is cluterfucked and he's a hapless victim of it, he comes to believe that there is a giant conspiracy that is causing our national problems, because there's no way that such a clever man like JO would have come to trust a bogus system or that he would have gotten hoodwinked and victimized by it.
