Exactly. JJ Abrams said he'd never been a fan of Star Trek or even really seen it before he went about tearing its soul out to make a pointless action movie. And he did the same thing to Star Wars for Disney.

They think we'll be grateful for any new content and hope that some Browncoats don't have Disney+ yet and will fork over their money.

Pretty sure firefly can't save Disney.

BSG, but i take your point.

BSG. Absolutely. No argument here.

Glad I left myself an out there.

I'm thinkin if it aint a continuation of the original show with the original cast and Whedon at the helm i'm probably not gunnalike it.

It can be done right.

I won't even go so far as to say that Disney isn't capable of doing it. I just don't believe that they are willing to do it.

Recent history has shown that they're far to agenda driven to hire any decision makers that will handle existing properties they've aquired with the respect they deserve.

Add to that the fact they've built their brand so heavily on being "family friendly" that artists working there over the years have countless times over the decades added their own naughty Easter eggs that somehow got past their censors before getting shipped out. (The S E X cloud of smoke in Aladdin, the naked woman in the background in The Rescuers, the Pastor's boner in the wedding ceremony in The Little Mermaid, as well as the penis shaped spire on the poster artwork).

If rumors are true that they're going to change Inara's profession to a more family friendly one, there isn't any reason to believe that they're going to give any respect to the rest of the property either, and we'll probably be given some family friendly tripe loaded with agenda driven messaging that nobody is going to want to watch.

Maybe they don't care about the old-timers, they are hoping to attract all the kids of the old timers who have heard about the show and LIKE reboots 'cause they cater to them??

After all, my kid is 18 and would prolly watch it if it was about a younger crowd in space...

If that's the case, I'd rather the CW have control over it.

A lot of their stuff is really bad, but they've got some good ones too like The 100.

I doubt they'd have a problem with keeping Inara a companion.

I'm loving The Mandalorian but I guess that isn't really an existing property as much as an offshoot new show of an existing property.

Loving it on a scale of The Last Jedi to Empire Strikes Back?

Even Return of the Jedi hits only a 7 on that list for me, and that's only because the first half was awesome before they touched down on Endor. The prequel trilogy only hovers around 4 or 5 and were already so bad I didn't even bother to watch Episode III to this day.

I think I just put childish things away a while back. Maybe Star Wars doesn't belong to us anymore. Maybe it never did. Let the kids have it. Make it as soft as it needs to be for the softest generation of kids that America ever churned out.

"Childish things".... like facts, acknowledgement of science principles, and leaving the basement to work for a living??

You keep trying to perpetuate this delusion of being better than (OTHERS, since you can't read and comprehend).

AND you most likely don't even realize you just insulted a dude you don't even know for daring to like something as you proclaim it to be "childish", and most likely because you are jealous, because you are too poor to pay for Disney+.

EVERY DAY you are more and more a jackass.

Nope. Like Star Wars. And Ghostbusters. And any other property from my youth that had a line of action figures that I collected when my parents were still giving me allowance. And speaking of basements, I know quite a few "men" my age who have their man-caves set up in their basement where there still adding worthless collectibles and putting them on display down there.

I only ignore scientific "facts" when they're manipulated and turned into political weapons.

Why do you insist I live in a basement when I've got an entire home to myself on a huge amount of land that I'm working on all the time? If you're going to insult me, stick to things that are actually true. It's not like there aren't things about me that are deserving of insult.

Better than what? Without looking at timestamps, I'm going to assume you wrote this post toward the beginning of your binge drinking session last night since it's much more coherent overall compared to your time in the RWED.

I know when I'm insulting somebody. No. I wasn't insulting him. If he's going to be a big fucking baby and take insult where it wasn't intended, that's not my problem.

It CERTAINLY is none of your business, Princess.

Yup. That's exactly it. After I've shit all over Disney on this thread, the one thing in life I don't have that I'm SUPER jealous of others having is Disney+.

If you don't understand why these three lines all by themselves are huge red flags of mental illness, there's no point explaining to you why that is so

You seem to have the mistaken notion that anybody should take your opinion on anything seriously.

Where did you get your psychology degree again?
