The demographic structure of our population is changing fast and isn’t racist friendly. The populism message will always appeal to the uneducated in our country, but with the white supremacist population in decline, that message will be less alluring in our election process.

Jordan Whines That Dems Are ‘Canceling’ Trump For Inciting Deadly Coup Attempt
In a truly monumental invocation of GOP handwringing over “cancel culture,” Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH) on Wednesday tried to paint Democrats’ second impeachment of President Donald Trump, who encouraged his supporters to storm the Capitol in a violent siege that left five people dead, as a tyrannical suppression of Trump’s freely held beliefs.
“Democrats are going to impeach the President for a second time one week, one week before he leaves office. Why? Why?” the Republican asked on the House floor ahead of the impeachment vote. “Politics and the fact that they want to cancel the President.”
Jordan proceeded to rant about Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s Russia probe and Democrats’ first impeachment of Trump over the Ukraine scandal.
“It’s not just about impeachment anymore,” he said. “It’s about canceling, as I’ve said. Canceling the President and anyone that disagrees with them.”
Then came a doomsday prophecy.
“It needs to stop because if it continues, if it continues, it won’t just be Republicans who get canceled, it won’t just be the President of the United States,” Jordan thundered. “The cancel culture will come for us all.”

McConnell made some moves like he would support impeachment but must have gotten such backlash that he decided not to convene the Senate for impeachment hearings.
Polling shows support for Trump holding steady, or rising, so impeaching Trump would be disaster for the GOP, and not too wise for Dems either So he saved the GOP's bacon, and even the Dem's too.
But they play these kinds of games, proposing stuff that they hope will never happen, because it gives them the chance to spout off and make points with the base while not having to deal with the consequences.

I know SECOND I’ve been watching the hearings for hours now. Currently the actual vote to impeach is in progress and 10 republicans have crossed the isle and voted to convict. There are enough votes now to convict. As for Jordon, his donors are running for the hills. That and I’m hoping he is censured. This is a long way from over.
Your Texas neighbors are republican first. Then comes god and country. Trump has caused many god fearing people to become worshipers of him over god. He has motivated them in a way where they’ve lost their moral compass.

Trump has been impeached for the second time. I think Pelosi will send the articles of impeachment to the Senate after the 20th, at which point they will control the Senate.

I was hoping Biden would send out notice to all Trumps appointees to hand in there resignations. It makes me very happy to hear it's happening second.
As for McConnell, I hope Pelosi holds onto the impeachment articles until they control the senate. I don't trust him.

My hope of hopes is that this latest rebellion by corporate America cutting off the money, will compel the Republicans to straighten out. Mark my words. In the not to distant future, the truth about the lies Trump spread of a stolen election, lies they supported and helped to spread, will be admitted to by many Republicans themselves.
I believe it will be the tool with which the Republicans separate themselves into two groups. Republicans, or seditious Republican Trump supporters, in order to get corporate support again.
