Yup on all points. "Defund Police" did nothing but push police officers - a job I wouldn't wish on any friend - further away from liberal/dems/blacks/minorities of all colors and religions, toward the right wing part of the spectrum. Who are you going to side with? People that make your life harder or easier? People who compliment you or people who shit on you? The BLM riots were a major personal risk and pain in the @ss for cops - not sympathizing, it's just a FACT. Having said that, I know from first hand knowledge that many in law enforcement in my state are definitely leaning toward Trump and white pride. They welcome them with open arms! It's a very dangerous situation for everyone, especially with Herr Trump reaching out to them.
It would be great to hear from Frem on this.

Agreed. So far reaver has been level headed and reasonable when challenged by posters I feel he trusts. That shows maturity and that he has a rational thinking process.
I too think his rash posts are personal frustration and totally understandable because I have those same frustrations. I just don’t want to him come off as sick and delusional like Signym, kiki and Jack. I see to a large extent better in him.

Totally agree. Just the number of times I have called them on drunk drivers...
I wouldn't want to deal with those assholes for any amount of pay, and they have to deal with them EVERY DAY.
And someone HAS TO, or no one could drive through any major town at night.
I DO think there are situations that could use some sort of service that isn't police related and more social services leaning, but it would be hard to do without extensive training and possibly armed... because people in general are violent for just about any interaction that is complicated.
"Mayberry" is a great ideal... that everything can be handled in a less violent manner, it just doesn't work that way anymore.
