Texas is relying on an obscure source of the Supreme Court’s power — its ability to hear disputes between states immediately without having them go through lower courts, known as “original jurisdiction.” But the claim at the heart of the suit has nothing to do with interstate relations — like a border dispute or litigation over water rights. Nor does it have anything to do with fraud. Rather, Texas is arguing that coronavirus-related changes to election rules in each state violate the federal Constitution, never mind that most states (including Texas) made such changes this cycle.
But hypocrisy aside, the suit is also a perfect microcosm for so many of the other cases we’ve seen filed in the past month: It is lacking in actual evidence; it is deeply cynical; it evinces stunning disrespect for both the role of the courts in our constitutional system and of the states in our elections; and it is doomed to fail.

The Supreme Court refused Friday to let Texas challenge the election results in four battleground states critical to President Donald Trump's defeat at the polls last month, likely sealing his political fate.
"Texas has not demonstrated a judicially cognizable interest in the manner in which another state conducts its elections," the court said in a brief order. It dismissed all other related claims as moot.
The justices' action clears the way for electors to convene in 50 states and the District of Columbia Monday and all but confirm that President-elect Joe Biden will be the nation's 46th president.

The U.S. Supreme Court has refused to take part in Donald Trump and the Republican Party of the United State's coup attempt despite a final round of frivolous unicorn poop and pixie dust briefs from, including and I am not making this up, "New California State" and "New Nevada State." (Alternately, "New Nevada Sate" because spelling is optional in the new civil war.)
Texas filed its reply brief, responding to the blistering briefs from the four states—Georgia, Michigan, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin—whose citizens' votes Texas (and 17 other states and 126 Republican House members) wanted to have wiped out. They did so with nonsense: "Texas ask this Court to recognize that Defendant States' maladministration of the 2020 election makes it impossible to know which candidate garnered the majority of lawful votes." They also added a big ol' dollop of racism just so the Court would know what they meant by "lawful votes" in arguing that "a few urban centers" stole the election and that if the Court doesn't act those "few urban centers will manufacture an unlawful and insuperable vote margin," ruining elections forever. Also, lots of gibberish and already litigated, disproven, and dismissed allegations.
The Court was not convinced.

'Dismissed With Prejudice': District Judge Nixes Trump's Federal Lawsuit in Wisconsin'
Trump's latest failed legal challenge comes from U.S. District Court Judge Brett Ludwig, who ruled that the president's federal lawsuit seeking to overturn President-elect Joe Biden's win has no merit. Ludwig's ruling comes as arguments are being heard in Trump's state lawsuit against Wisconsin's elections commission. All of the president's legal attempts to overturn the election have been dismissed across several states he lost to Biden in, including Wisconsin, Arizona, Pennsylvania, Michigan and Georgia.
