Here's a link to an interview David Boreanaz and James Marsters gave while they were in the UK for the Halloween convention:

It's short, but I'll take whatever I can get.
ETA: You'll need Windows Media to view it.

Thanks for the post. Interesting stuff.
Maybe the fact that our BDHs were friends on and off the set helps to make Firefly work so well. They are supposed to form a family and they do. I never really did get the feeling of family out of the characters on Angel. It was more like they worked together because they had a common goal. Not because they really liked each other.
Also interesting that James says he's turning down roles to play any non-human characters. Almost makes it sound like he wouldn't be interested in playing Spike again.

Also, going by that interview I can see how people who were there said that James really seems to love what he does. You'll note James gave the interviewer most of the responses, trying to put thought into his answers.
David seems to me that it was just a job, and now it's over. I can see feeling that way if you were, say, flipping burgers or something. Of course, doing TV is a lot of work...but then he signed up for that new detective series. *shrug*

Great interview...
...but is it REALLY necessary for James to be wearing a shirt that's only half-on?
Simon: You...you came for us.
Mal: You're on my crew.
Simon: Right. I guess I just didn't...you don't even like me.
Mal: You're on my crew. Why we still talking about this?

Well, he was at a convention, appearing onstage and what not. He wasn't dressed that way just for the interview. But then again, I'd say it was necessary anyway.

Zeek, I couldn't agree with you more. I always felt that on Angel they were together for the mission. That was what kept them together. On Firefly, there was a real sense of community. I think of the dinner around the table in OoG. They were really enjoying each others company.
