Nowhere did Signy claim anything was a 'lie'. What jawn posted was that the facts are devastating either way. EITHER you let it run rampant and take the hit in deaths and long-term medical consequences while trying to minimize the immediate economic impact OR you effectively suppress it through draconian or at least very expensive and comprehensive measures and take the GDP hit.

Well, there's a middle way - you try to slow it down through simple cheap measure like wearing masks, social distancing, and handwashing; and widely available timely testing; but nobody seems interested in that. (When it comes to protecting at-risk populations, the US is 42% at-risk due to obesity alone, so trying to come up with separate protective policies for that category of people is imo not worth it.)

Open everything back up. Pray that smaller businesses that were devastated can even come back and bring the jobs back with them. Don't enforce any lifestyle changes, period. Allow business owners themselves to make decisions about whether or not to serve people without masks at their own peril. Let the chips fall where they may.

At this point, it's the ONLY chance that America has of not slipping into another Great Depression.

Do Right, Be Right. :)

There was a HUGE cliff America (and much of the rest of the semi-modern world) fell off in 1929. The fall wouldn't have happened without that cliff.

The same is true today. The economy has been hollowed out over the decades in a bipartisan effort, and replaced with a rough facsimile of a straight road, built on thin air and bubbles. It's our irreducible 1929 cliff.

Deal with COVID-19 in a reasonable way, and let the economic chips fall where they may.

Can you read?

I never said anything like that. I said it was a shit sandwich no matter which side you bit into. EVERY world leader... Trump, Merkel, Macron, Modi, Johnson, Xi, Putin .... is faced with the dilemma of how to handle the pandemic. No nation that's infected is emerging unscathed.

The internet has made this an impossible task for people who are driven purely by emotion and have no real critical thinking skills. They live 100% immersed in their emotions and all of the brain-chemical hits they're self-medicating with. It has made them nothing more than reactionary puppets to the narrative. Constantly bombarded with the next outrage story that was never fact-checked before it was put out there, and almost never cites a single source that wasn't anonymous.

I'm not saying that there isn't any hope for them in the future, but you're not going to fix them with words. Something serious has to come down on them to get them to break that cycle.

They're addicts.

Bingo! You just described yourself! Perfectly too - you're definitely an addict.

Just like all those brainless suckers at his rallies, people he wouldn't slow down to spit on... Q-ANON, Soros this, Soros that, Clinton is a ped, Obama is going to bring Sharia law - It's hard to imagine people being so stupid, naive and unaware.

Nah, dude. That's you.

I didn't stutter. You're a junkie. You're a tool.

Awwww... I missed yesterday when we hit 2 Million.

I'll forgive myself since it's virtually a non-event that happens every single year in this country.

Hey, brain dead, I'm not "the left" - how many times do I have to tell you? I'm just one of many that keeps making you look like an idiot so your only option to get even, is to put us in a ready made "bad basket" that you have been programmed by youtube or your feelz to hate, "Soros, Clinton, Antifa,..." who else are they telling you to hate? Right, Librals, The Left...

For instance...? Which made up fantasy BS are you referring to that I said, or anyone else here? Come on, I'm curious what this week's lie is. Trump doesn't lie, Woodward's a hack, he didn't say dead soldiers are losers, anonymous sources are fake news...

Let us know when you get even a tiny pair and we can have an actual discussion.
