"I want my
I want my
I want my VCD's..."

Hope in the midst of all this UPN/Sci-Fi craziness, some nice tech-happy Browncoats are still willing to make some VCD copies. I think there are a number of you floating around--please email me!

Thanks--I'll obviously pay for shipping and any other costs incurred!

DVD media is way... too expensive.
For a set of DVD media. You can
pick up a brand spanking new DVD
player that will play just about
everything you put in it.
Those things go for $65 nowadays.

cheap, compared to $3-$5 per DVD.

Sooooo, I would give you my firstborn for dvds except that 1) I don't have any and 2) who would want more kids than they already have anyway?

But I would use the old fashioned currency of money or chocolate or whatever you ask for a set of DVDs. Especially since UPN turned us down. So email me at bigsister9874@yahoo.com.

Please!

and yes, I'm taking this all personal like.

What? Come on Jzzz. DVD-R media is <$1 each.(allmediaoutlet.com, yesbuy.net) You can easily put 2 episodes per disc, so that's only 6 discs for all 11 FF eps. Labels are around $0.25 each. Add a DVD 'Amaray' case for $0.30, and print a nice color insert for another $0.25 and there you have it. $15 worth of materials for the whole FF DVD set!

BUT, my labor to do all this? Cha-Ching!!! figure 45 minutes x 12 episodes (Serenity is essentially 2 eps) to capture them. 2-3 hours x 12 episodes to encode the .m2v files. 2-3 hours x 6 discs to layout the menus and sub-menus. 37 minutes x 6 discs to burn each DVD-R @ 2x. Then, 90 minutes x 6 discs to proof the masters for any 'hick-ups'. We have to be getting up around $100 a set by now, right? And they will be 'broadcast quality'!

VCD's are easy! I can capture>edit>encode>burn>label an episode for VCD in 3-4 hours, and once it's done I can duplicate them in any computer with a CD burner. But it will never look better than VHS quality. ( www.vcdhelp.com) Why would want to pay $25-$40 for VCD/VHS quality? You get what you pay for.

SVCD's are better than VCD, but most DVD players are picky about the encoding. The slightest 'hick-up' and the player usually freezes up. Plus, SVCD are equal to S-VHS quality at best.

As for DVD players, if it won't play VCD's, then it most likely won't like the DVD-R media too well either! Check this list for the the current 'Top Rated' players and to see if yours is on it. http://www.vcdhelp.com/dvdplayers.php?DVDname=&Search=Search&toprate=T

I have a AMPEX AD-1100W with the 'Macro-vision/ Multi region' "Patch" and it plays nearly everything you put in it. $70 @ Wal-Mart.

Good luck! I'll let y'all know when I have DVD's available!

I will pay for postage and time if anyone is able to make copies, would be much appreciated. I waited hoping there would be reruns or something. Maybe there still will be, plus the new episodes but just in case...

Hi, I see that you've got all the firefly eps on tape. Someone callusly taped over my "Serenity" with some A and E . . . well, I don't want to talk about it. Is there any chance if I sent you a tape and money for mailing you could send me a copy? And if the annswer's Yes, I didn't get "Train Job" either, could I snach that one off you too?
If Yes, you are my favorite person alive.
If no, thanks anyways

Hi everyone,

Newbie here! And I'm in desperate need of Firefly tapes. Would anyone be willing make copies for me? Of course I would pay for shipping and whatever work you put into it. Since the show has disappeared, and I was forced to watch Mr. Sterling, I need something to get me through it. I'd be very grateful.

Email: lisamona13@yahoo.com

Thanks! (oh btw, I do live in the states now, so don't worry about shipping to Europe lol)
