Well, I for one have never claimed - or even thought-that Antifa was setting forest fires. And I can't imagine HOW these rumors started ... except Antifa's history of setting fires in cities.
CA, where I live, has a long history of devastating forest fires, and their causes are almost always lightning strikes, downed power lines, regular arsonists, and human stupidity.
In the case of the fire nearest me (Bobcat Fire), apparently some stupid people had lit a campfire to "read the smoke" (believers in santeria, I was told) to see what sex their unborn baby was (I guess they couldn't afford an ultrasound). Other past human causes have included such things as "gender reveal" videos gone wrong, welding work, grinding work (sparks), illegal campfires, car fires, "back fires" gone out of control etc. Yanno, people being stupid and careless in a tinderbox when the wind is blowing like a bellows.

Overall, the big cause for concern has been the "megadrought" gripping the western half of the USA this past summer. Been following the drought on the USA drought monitor, which shows the extent of the normally green, lush temperate rain forests of N California, Oregon, and Washington state in state of extreme drought. La Nina is active, and it is unlikely that rain will come any time soon. Predictions are that fire season will last well into Novemeber, and possibly even December. (OH, BTW ... where is that "global cooling" due to the "new Maunder minimum, you anti-science people? Last I checked, the earth was still warming up!)
A couple of years ago, it was British Columbia burning up.
My own personal opinion is that global climate shift is indeed making things worse. Not thru general increase in temperature (which doesn't help) but because the jet stream is looping farther north and south, slowing down, and becoming more static (staying in place longer) because the warming arctic is no longer driving the weather as fast as it used to. That's how you can have the center of the USA transition from late-summer heat to snowfall in just a couple of days.)
Another thing that doesn't help has been FEDERAL and STATE forest management policy. At the Federal level it has lurched from aggressive forest suppression ... allowing fuel loads to build up ... to clearcutting, allowing mudslides .... to "let it burn", leading to unnaturally intense fires that literally glassify and sterilize the soil.
Sigh.
NO President of either party has ever spent the money on promoting sustainable forestry practices.
My god, if they took just a faction of the money spent on Iraq, Afghanistan, Syria, Libya, Yemen and the Sudan, our forests would be in pristine condition.
