You're right, REAVERBOT. If natives had gotten into ships and sailed eastwards towards Europe - which technically would have been easier since they would have been sailing with the prevailing winds from the west - and discovered a continent full of white people, THEN there would be some sort of comparison. But they didn't.

Reality is that the Europeans were technologically far more advanced and took advantage of that to dominate much of the world.

We will never have that chat because I live in an engineer's simple, binary world of picking either D or R, life or death, left or right, and Signym lives, in my opinion, in the tediously garrulous world of blathering philosophers taking forever to weigh all the evidence before making a nuanced decision. I'm happy to make quick and ugly decisions about four times a year that could bankrupt me using only my crude heuristic methods. For me, politics is more of the same -- an area of life that needs a fast decision, while Signym wants to mull it over leisurely and then make a delicate, careful and reversible decision. That is not who I am. The way I attack the world, ripping its beating heart out of its chest with my grubby hands, is philosophically incompatible with the sterile, surgical way Signym contemplates the world.
