I'm sure there was some.
Our "cottage" was really just that. It was an old ass quaint little house that wasn't lakefront property in the middle of nowhere in a town with less than 250 people.
It was regularly broken into over the years even though there was nothing really worth stealing in there. I remember the one time they stole the toilet paper roll and about 30 lbs of filed blue gill that we had caught and left in the freezer.
I always laughed that nobody ever bothered with the TV since it was one of those ancient huge units that resembled more of a piece of furniture with a tiny 17" or 19" screen in it and weighed around 250 lbs.
No reason to believe that there weren't break ins. One of the biggest reasons people have their homes broken into these days is because casing houses has never been easier with social media and people announcing to the world they're going on vacation.
Have a statewide order banning travel to second homes and that takes house casing to an entirely new level.
Add to that the fact that Michiganites hate the Illinois weekend warriors in the first place. Rightfully so, TBH, since they drove up prices of houses in Michigan in many parts and made living there unaffordable for people who grew up in those areas. They called us FIPS (Fucking Illinois People).
In the case of our stolen TP roll and freezer full of fish, I'm sure the person who did it convinced themselves that we had it coming.

But this is what JSF posted: This signalled looters to RUSH to vacation communities, like when FL evacuates law-abiding citizens during hurricanes, for looters to swoop in. That didn't happen.

Did you do the investigation yourself and look at all the locations in the state where 2nd homes are typically purchased?
Just because there hasn't been a big news story with bright neon letters in a headline saying that it happened doesn't mean that it didn't happen.
That would be against the narrative. They don't want to report that.
They can't even bring themselves to call looting and rioting looting and rioting in 2020. It's all peaceful protests. lol

Says JACK, the 'expert', who hasn't backed up a even single claim with even one link - and who's gotten many, many of his claims wrong (for example, your misimpression that somehow the US counts reported annual flu cases instead of modelling them statistically).

We had a Curtis Mathes console TV, no turntable or other add-on. It must have been over 500 or 600 pounds. Couldn't lift it, but could sort of push it long the carpet a few inches.
