I see LOTS of folk driving around alone in their car wearing masks, and getting in and out of their car, so you know there is no kid in the backseat.
The issue with wearing a mask isn't wearing them, it's taking them off safely. You don't want to touch the front of your mask (which may be contaminated) then rub your itchy nose. I just keep hand sanitizer in the car, and hang my mask on the rearview until I either get to where I'm going, or get home. In-between, I santize my hands right after removing my mask.

I have one mask. I use it for everything when I need it for actual work. It's beyond filthy. It's supposed to be white, but it's brown. I'm not going to wash it.
