I imagine Muslims have been giddy with smug superiority.

The women must cover themselves such that today's masks would be downright scandalous. The women must have been smug that they were before their time, leaders in this new fashion.
The men have been keeping the females in their place, and for the past few months must have been laughing at all the Nancy boys who have been covering their faces like Karens.

Now that some of the men are being forced to wear masks as well, maybe there is extra antagonism fomenting.

Oh these poor deluded religious cultists. They should just take off their masks and be free! After all, it's not like their masks do anything important.
