I think I really hate the passage of time. Where does it go and where do the people who get swallowed up by it end up? Or maybe it's change I really can't stand. The people you love the most almost always end up disappearing in the random events that make up daily life.

actually a lot of people you don't care about
are also swallowed up...
but you don't notice or care.
not that that will make you feel any better

You know, I hadn't thought of that, but you are right. Hmmm, I was looking through a year book for the first time in years and realized that I don't recognize half the people in it. I wonder if that makes me crummy for not remembering…

Nah, it just makes them crummy for not being memorable.
Well, no, not really. I dip into nostalgia quite a bit and there's a good deal of people I only remember vaguely.. I think it's just the nature of things. Some people remain burned in your memory, others fade away slowly. And of course, unless your school was very small, there's probably a good batch of people you simply didn't _know_ at the time.

I've been on a nostalgia kick lately...music, movies, video games. Even got an old NES for my birthday and a bunch of games!

It's when nostalgia starts to spiral into regret that the trouble starts. Or maybe the trouble starts when you do the things you'll regret... hmmmm.

I haven't been regretting; I guess I'm just resisting change. My life has been one giant upheaval since June of this year and I think I am wishing life was a simple as it once was. I wish the worst part of my whole day could be something as assinine as finding out that the boy down the street doesn't like me except as a friend.

Well, I (probably) don't live down the street, but if it helps any, I don't like you as any more than a friend either? ;)

THANX!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Just when exactly did life get so complicated? One minute I'm some dumb kid blithely going about my business, knowing exactly who I am. And BAM! Suddenly I'm 1/4 gray and realizing that I buy cream to stave off the smile lines around my eyes. I used to be a half crazy party girl with guitar in hand, driving boys nuts, and now I'm super domestic, worrying about whether I should vaccuum my floor…
