I wish I had a quarter of your energy, Signy. But I'm glad to hear you little plants are doing well!

I hope your sunshine comes back soon!

Me too. But according to the weather on the news this evening it will be wet off and on the rest of this week.

Sun for the long weekend we have coming up in BC would be nice. Next Monday the 18th is Victoria day, but we shall have to see.

Thanks Kiki.

I'm still here plugging away. Still beating back a bit of the blues at times.

Out for my walk in a bit but no more coffee for me unless I can get some actual food to go with it. Starting to give me an upset stomach.

For myself, this time of year always brings truly severe sleep difficulties. I'm pretty sure it has to do with both the increasing light levels and increasing temperatures. Sigh. We'll get through these difficulties.

See ya' later, Brenda! I need to do some paperwork and then some shopping.

I know for myself, we just passed Mother's Day and that is hard for me on two fronts. 1. my own mom has been gone for 12years now 2. I'm on my own. No other, no children. Always saw myself with a couple of children but that never happened.
I deal with it all.

Hope you get your paper work done and have fun shopping. I've been out for a walk and came back with a hot dog from another stand. The owner of this one is from Quebec and is a very nice lady.

Hey Brenda - I was catching up on some computer-work and saw your reply. It seems to me depression catches us each where we are most vulnerable. For some, it's a loss of a sense of security. For some it's a sense of worthlessness. For some it's a feeling of helplessness. For some it's a feeling of emptiness. For you it seems to be loneliness. I hear you. "This too shall pass."

Me... I'm still running as if the devil was chasing me. I think that's my response to generalized anxiety about our daughter's future.

I was sad to see all of those avocado leaves ... a couple hundred gallon's-worth, at least ... go to the big greenwaste composting operation in the sky. (Well, probably in Riverside County, but off my property and doing me no good.) I had a pile of avocado leaves that our former handyman had piled up years ago. One summer I took it upon myslef to water the darn thing and throw some nitrogen fertilizer on it once in a while. I imagined some nice crumbly rich black compost that I was going to throw on the new veggie patch, to make room for the newly fallen leaves and restart the whole process.

So I dug into the pile, and wouldn't you know. three inches down it was still just a pile of big, dry leaves. No decomp at all. I think the problem is that the leaves are so big and so tough that they lie very flat and make almost like a thatch that sheds water, and without water nothing happens, biologically.

Hmm...

Well, I don't feel so bad about binning and hauling out the new leaves if I can't even figure out how to make the old ones demcompose. I'd almost need a leaf mulcher, or something, just to break them up into smaller bits.

Hi Kiki.

I will admit that I am not a people person. Never have been but over the last few years, I've gotten used to a certain level of interaction that has now disappeared because of this crisis. So, yeah I am dealing.
