How are blue sun and river connected.

I do believe that the only things that are known is that, Blue Sun ran the school that she went to, they did something to her brain and really want her back.

If I'm not mistaken, beyond that, it's all conjecture.

Unfortunately, I think Joss said in an interview, that the Blue Sun thing has been removed from the story line in the movie. So, we'll never really know where that was all going. Hopefully, the replacement story is as good or better.

Technically, we never really knew that there was a connection between the "government-run school" and Blue Sun. There was never a specified connection between the government and Blue Sun, so Mal and Company never knew about that. The connection was assumed by the flans (), then Joss confirmed it in the Serenity commentary (I think) on the DVDs.

River really does not like the labels on BlueSun food stuffs.

That's it. Nothing more.

well I'm counting on Blue sun being explained in the second or third of the Firefly films....

so I"m looking for more ominous Blue Sun hints in 'Serenity'

While I agree 100% that I'd LIKE to see the BlueSun sub plot work out in that manner, don't hold your breath. Not giving any spoilers away, because I really don't know any, but my GUT feeling is that we'll be presented w/ some subtle differences in Serenity that might involve all out omissions of some things . That's how I'm gonna approach the movie...if I'm wrong, all that more shiny!

Well although there is nothing explicit, we do know that River went to the school, got out, and now the Blue Sun guys are after her. Seems like a link to me.

Why do you assume that the "two by two, hands of blue" guys are with Blue Sun? Seriously, there's nothing saying who those two are actually with. They could be government, truant officers, or just about anyone.

Because I don't think that Joss' comments should be taken lightly. He tends to be subtle. I view this as forshadowing something that'll never come :(

I think in the Jossverse, there's no really meaningful distinction between Eeevil Big Industry and Eeevil Big Government.

What if Simon and River's father works for, or even owns, Blue Sun and knows everything.

But then "Das crasy tok"

That'd be an interesting twist... and perhaps a reason why Simon was so willing to give up his life to save his sister.

As far as Simon and crew know Blue Sun is not evil.

I'm not terribly sure that we should make that assumption.

I mean, if you had basically only one choice of brand when you bought things, you'd be forced to buy it no matter what you thought of the corp that produced them.

It's a matter of accepting your surroundings, not whether you like them or not.

Are you talking about Blue Sun or Wal-Mart?
