Again, posted unironically on the 'Cinema' forum @ Fireflyfans.net

Second - your attempted jabs and insults MIGHT have more sting if your views had more legitimacy to them.

But they don't.

Say what you want about Joker, but it did receive 11 nominations from the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences and won 2 Oscars, including BEST ACTOR. All while hauling in more than a billion dollars at the box office.

That may not be much, but as Captain Mal might say... " It's enough "

So 'empty '.

Fathom the hypocrisy of a government that requires every citizen to prove they are insured... but not everyone must prove they are a citizen

lol

Second is such a tool.

Everything he says and does is hypocritical to the core.

This thread is just a dozen or so of thousands of examples he's amassed over the years.

EDITED TO ADD: Here's the entire exchange between Second and I that Rappy took a quote from above.

Do Right, Be Right. :)

Joker is not a biographical movie. Arthur never existed. Joker never existed. And for most of his life Joaquin Phoenix plays characters that never existed. There is really nothing there, inside the movie. It is all going on inside your head. The movie is like radar bouncing off the inside of your noggin. A signal comes back telling the world how empty your head is according to how you react to this movie. I'm getting back a very steady and strong signal that says AURaptor and 6ixStringJack are hollow men fascinated by an empty movie about a nonexistent character.

For anybody too dumb to catch what Rappy was throwing (ie: Second), he's saying that the point that Second is trying to make with his latest meaningless insult is that anything that is not a historical account that is purely non-fiction is not worth watching or deriving any enjoyment from.

He also says this straight faced on a fan site devoted to a great fictional show about a great deal of fictional people who are beloved to many.

If this doesn't wrap up the essence of Second's entire being in a neat little bow for anybody, I don't know what to tell you.

Do Right, Be Right. :)

second - one last thing, you brought up Alita: Battle Angel. A very large part of the fandom who supported Alita but rejected Captain Marvel ( along with Terminator Dark Fate, Rise of Skywalker, Harley Quinn, seeing a pattern here ? ) did so because of the same basic theme. Hollywood was shoving a LEFTIST agenda down the throats of the fans and the fans weren't having any of it.

Just like with Joker.

Does that mean Alita also belongs to the Right Wing? Because you know I posted multiple times in the 3 Alita threads on this page alone. I went from having NEVER heard of the character or the Manga, to giving it a try and then really liking it.

You think Rush Limbaugh or anyone at FOX News told me about this ? Nope. I learned about it HERE, at FFF.Net.

I learned about it from FANS.

Get it?

Well...

And then there is the fact that ShinyGoodGuy who is not even close to "Right Wing" started this thread and gushed over the movie.

And before it even hit the states it was winning awards and film festivals in Europe. Their "Right Wing" over there is left of Obama.

Do Right, Be Right. :)

Joker: Killer Smile #1 December 2019 claims that Joker can take over your brain:
Quote:

Dr. Ben Arnell is certain that he'll be the analyst to succeed where all others have failed. He's going to cure the Joker's madness. He believes that he can put an insurmountable wall between himself and the seductive void behind the Joker's eyes. And he's absolutely sure that no matter what he goes through at work, he can keep that darkness far away from his family.

Dr. Ben Arnell is very, very wrong.

That is what the comic claims. It might be true. Watching Joker, the movie, seems to mesmerize some people. But Joker says in those three comics “Some people will always want to ruin what is beautiful.” I ruin the beauty of Joker, the movie. I am immune to Joker's charms.

I don’t read comics. I own a set of Firefly comics, but haven’t followed DC or Marvel or any other comics in 40+ years.

Interjecting the comics to this movie discussion makes no point.

That is exactly like saying Trump's history of acrimonious divorces, multiple bankruptcies and of being sued and losing has no connection to the chaos of how he conducts himself as President. Trump is the same man before and after election. Joker is the same character before and after this movie. You might not read about Joker, but the writer/director knows Joker from the comics. Those 3 recent Joker comics are perfectly consistent with the Joker movie.

Sounds like Second is just salty and has Joker penis envy.

You know he wishes he could control minds just as bad as Mika Brzezinski likes to believe that she does.

Seriously dude. Why are you still posting here?

Are you looking to self destruct a little more today?

You’re babbling. This is nothing like that at all. When are you going to stop projecting everything you hate into a contorted , convoluted sidecar to this movie?
I feel the more you try to discuss this, the more entrenched you become with your warped and disassociated view.

I don’t recall joker ever having an origins story. And yet this movie presents one for the first time.

It is NOT the first time.
"9 of the Joker’s Most Infamous Origin Stories"

From that article: Todd Phillips, who made Joker, has said his film will be a dark and gritty crime movie, so it wouldn’t be a huge reach for the team to take notes from this iteration of the Joker.

There will be a Joker 2: www.imdb.com/title/tt11315808/

Second's just taking to this thread because the Democrats have lost the political arena completely.

News flash. They lost the cultural arena as well.
