It's probably a good thing that Second didn't actually watch Joker, since he's the one on these boards with murder in his heart and plenty of posts talking about how he wants to assassinate the president and how he'd get away with it. He'd likely empathize with Joker more than most would.

The last scene, where Joker leaves bloody footprints from his final kill in this movie, murdering his psychologist, is not the final kill from his many exploits in the comics and movies. As does all Great Art, it made me feel something:
I feel Batman should, next time or the time after that or the one after that, get around to killing Joker purposefully rather than recycling Joker endlessly into and out of Arkham. But if Batman did kill, that will be the end of the series. Batman would be retired from DC Comics and Lego movies. So Batman allows the Joker to go from one atrocity to the next and the next and the one after that until DC Comics goes out of business.

Let’s see now, joker was being bullied and ganged up on by three douche bag wall street boys to the point where he snapped and then shot them all. And what drew the attention of those guys to him on the subway? Joker was standing up because they were harassing a woman. Then he killed one of his coworkers, but left the other one alive. He smothered his mother, who herself was possibly crazy because she had lied to him. And the late night talk show murder on live TV. Lastly, we are led to believe he killed the caseworker in prison, although we aren’t entirely sure about that either.
What you aren’t getting about any of this is that we can’t believe what joker did or didn’t actually do. That’s what make this movie so fascinating, is that Arthur is an unreliable narrator. We know for a fact that events didn’t happen as we first saw, because of the scene when he shows up in the girls apartment.
So what about pulp fiction, or kill bill? Hell, just about any Tarantino movie? There is a long list of Hollywood movies where rampant in discriminate murder occurs, yet you step up on your soapbox to denounced this one?
I call BS.

Quote:Joker is NOT my first encounter with the Joker as entertainment. The Joker has an extremely long and detailed history of murdering people in the movies and comics. Are you supposed to sympathize with evil because these are his very first kills? How many people does Joker have to kill in the future before his status goes from misunderstood comic to evil mass murderer?

In Kill Bill, Bill is the bad guy. When he dies or even has a small setback in the two movies, that is good. Kill Bill could be turned into the movie Joker by making Bill the hero who wants his precious child returned and is being wrongly pursued by the oppressive Bride. That would require a new finale where Bill kills the Bride. Then we cheer for Bill's victory! Bill raises his child in love and peace. But Tarantino is not crazy. He did not make Joker.

Joker is a bad guy.
That’s the point.
How aren’t you getting this?
The MOVIE itself was very well made. It’s a take on how a warped society can ignore a sick person, hell, ignore all of us, blind to the plight of the individual, while going out of its way oppress those same people.
But in the end, Joker succeeded because Hollywood & the social elites, the self appointed arbiters of right speak& right think who told us to stay away. Joker, to me, is a giant middle finger to the woke cult who still hasn’t learned their lesson.

The Coastal Elite is going down. And they will never get rid of the Electoral College either.
Do you really think that somebody like me or Rappy give two single fucks about what they think of us, or about them in general?
What we're tired of is rich and entirely corrupt garbage people telling everybody else to "do as I say, not as I do", while they go fuck underage kids or rape people who otherwise wouldn't even give them the time of day because their power allows them to do it.
You asked me what I liked about Joker?
I already laid it out in great detail in this thread back when SGG still posted here. Go and read it if you care.
I already know that you don't care. I already know that you never watched the movie. You're just looking to get a rise out of people because you're a troll and an idiot.

Yep!
Without respect, we reject!
That’s what the entire Fandom Menace is all about. Those Star Wars fans who rejected the Disney Star Wars franchise because as Kathleen Kennedy claimed, “there was no source material“ for the Star Wars canon which they bought from George Lucas.
The appreciation for Joker is just a widespread rejection of woke Hollywood. Star Wars, Star Trek CBS, Girl Ghostbusters , Nurse Who, Captain Marvel, Charlie’s Angels, Terminator dark fate, Harley Quinn, Batwoman TV series,.. it’s been said before, and apparently needs saying again. The smart kids in Hollywood and the re-purposers @ the BBC who are trying to shove their social agenda message into established and beloved franchises is facing a backlash.

In 2019, the only movie I paid to watch at a theater was Alita: Battle Angel, which had a Joker who was called Nova, the target that Alita was sent to kill. Alita is roughly equivalent to Batman. She, too, has a tragic origin story and is a vigilante, mostly working with the law. I liked Battle Angel, so I can see the appeal of Joker-like characters existing, but I would not want to see a movie about Nova's origin story since he is the villain and his motives are not that interesting, although Nova's motivation makes 1,000 times more sense than flat-out crazy Joker's motivation. I have zero sympathy for the Joker's personality problems, while Nova's were fascinating, but you'd need to read the comic to know Nova. In the movie, there are only hints at what makes Nova go. In the Alita comics and movie, Nova lived after the comic ends, which I approve of, while I want a Batman comic or movie to kill the goddamn Joker and desecrate the corpse.
